I think they are tied together. Of course it was about oil, not "just oil" but a major part of the world economy. Do you think Sadamm invaded Kuwait for Gummi Bears? No he wanted to control more oil. Do you honestly think Sadamm wasn't trying to get weapons of mass destruction, hell he gased his own fucking people. Do you think our enemies are trying to obtain nukes, of course, they have said so them selves, not only that, they said they would use them. We just can't sit by and watch as our enemies, try to take over a very strategic and import part of the world. To use the revenues to attack us and our allies, c'mon let's use some common sense. Complete disregarde for the welfare of the communities in which corporations operate is shortsighted and irresponsible.

They have a responsibility to their shareholders that doesn't being and end with the $$$$, but that's the way they run. They forget, and shareholders forget that if their practices are predatory and unsustainable they won't have customers to sell their products to in the future.

anybody can get a piece of the pie.
and i don't see how oil companies are short sighted, they realize we are gonna need oil forever. if anything i think they are long-sighted in their moves to gurantee the flow continues.

The real frat is being part of the Fortune 500 Board Rooms - where every CEO on your board is subject to your vote as a member of their board. Overbloated compensation packages approved all around. Special privilages and funds right from the tax coffers pressured out of our legislatures from people in the same frat.

2) Oil companies are short sighted. a) they only care about how much money they can enrich themselves and their shareholders in the short term - i.e. as long as they can be in charge and benefit - after that they don't give two fucks about the company or the shareholders. Don't fool yourself. b) I don't think, nor do I think they beleive we will need oil forever. Which is another motivator to sell all they can at the highest price NOW. Other engergy sources abound - we just need to develop ways to safely tap them - it is only a matter of time.

1) I wasn't excluding Microsoft & IBM bro. I did say fortune 500 companies didn't I? I beleive they both are.

2) x3. Oils major market is energy. Once something eclipses it as our prefered engergy source the demand will be so low and the potential supply will be so high that the market as we know it will be gone. Nobody claimed that it has no other uses and that their will be no ancillary markets. That's just being silly. Plastics. BHAHHHAHAHAHHAhAhAHahah
