Oil companies (legal publicly traded companies) make $.10 profit per gallon. Check what the taxes are on that same gallon. Oil companies have to drill it, refine it, deliver it etc. PAY MOTHER FUCKING TAXES ON IT. What does the gov. do for it? Who's greedy? Blood money give me a fuckin break. Might as well sell crack=ASININE. The liberal democrats have done a fantastic job creating class envy and demonizing "Rich" oil companies along with other LEGAL companies all for the purpose of getting their hands on their money.

Ironically, having the old Iraq armed with Nukes would not have been such a bad thing. They would eventually used them on Osama and Iran.

Now I have worked in the oil industry all my life so can't agree with the other points but I do not believe Bush's oil goals out of Iraq were meant to benefit the oil industry - quite the contrary. I think what Jr wished was that he was going to roll into Iraq, get the oil imports back in shape - grow them large with US investments - and in turn break OPEC's quota and drive prices down.
That in turn would have led the US economy to a long sustained growth period - much like Reagan pulled off in the 80's.
