Pat Tillman - Opinions?

I find it strange that anyone who has ever been in any of those situations would believes in that kind of foul play. I've watched Platoon and know that Hollywood wants us to believe there is that much going on there but I don't buy their shit. I'm thinking that if I'm in an area where gunfire is highly possible the last thing I want is to not trust the guys who have my back. Even if you dislike ONE guy and take him out then you would find the others around you knowing your ability to be a ABSOLUTE COMPLETE DIPSHIT and you wouldn't last long. Thus the gain of getting rid of the one guy would only lead to your demise from the rest. I'm also thinking that the professionals at the levels that Pat was operating at wouldn't be playing dumb ass games like that. That is just my thoughts, I'm not saying I know it all but I am just pulling from my 10 plus years experience, 3 years hazard duty zones and member of an above average unit.

trust me bro it happens. do you understand how easy it is to accidentally "push" someone over board in the navy? especially off an aircraft carrier? it happens more than you might think.

im not saying i condone it, but believe me ive been there and it is stressful enough but then to have some nerd keep pushing your buttons and pushing your buttons... your gonna snap eventually by either woopin his ass or even worse.

I'd definitely accidently take out a few members of this board.

That kind of foul play?? How could you believe there's not?? I'm not saying in the Tillman case, but it does happen!! I've met some really warped people in the military and they would probably throw their lives away just to risk killing someone they didn't like. Especially after 6 months having to live in a tent with some asshole who's sole purpose in life seems to be riding you!!

i'm in the military and trust me there are MANY people, mainly 18-22 y/o punks, i would NOT want covering my back. total gangbangers and shitholes.

and with a macho environment, maybe jealousy/despisement cuz of who Pat Tillman is - combined with maybe a arguemnt earlier - anything is possible.

remember: we even have marines going ape-shit and massacring men, women and children.

anything is possible in a war environemtn. war, deaths, anger, stress, sleep deprivation, attitudes can seriously fuck up young males minds.

but all that said - the military's treatment of this incident is disgusting. So mcuh for army values eh?

"We can lie. But you can't".

Sure friendly fire. Kinda like suicide with 3 bulletholes to the back of the head.

and i sure hope it wasn't a hit put on Pat cuz he was growing disenchanted with why he was there (odd that they BURNED his dairies) and was in danger of meeting with Chomsky.

wow I cant beleive all of this happens. I mean I can beleive it due to certain circumstances that people just mentioned, but it never crossed my mind that it actually happens. I figured since your at war you want as many soilders on your side. Fist fights are a given, but killin a fellow soilder on your side is just crazy.

I've also heard stories of people getting thrown overboard.

Yeah he was an excellent soldier, very respectable!! Especially for blowing off that NFL contract to serve his country. I hope the team didn't do it on purpose. It takes a lot to make it through ranger school, and anyone who does so should be looked up to!!

An ego is never a good enough reason for someone, especially one of your own, to take you out. Thats bullshit.
