Paris Hilton's Early Release Slammed By L.A. City Attorney.

Civil rights leader Reverend Al Sharpton is also highly critical of Hilton's early release.
He says, "This early release gives all the appearances of economic and racial favouritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of colour.
"There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released."

i think the tide is gonna turn now in sympath for paris. i found myself feeling sorry for her today when i saw her being hauled back to jail and the media chasing her like an animal.
i saw an attorney on the Today show today disputing that paris is getting preferential treatment as she is actually getting treated WORSE than the average citizen would have with the same charges.
people do not go to jail for first time DUI arrests and driving on a suspended license. if they do they are typically released 1/10th of their sentence.
she'll end up more famous, and with some much needed publice sympathy, when this whole is over.

She was caught recklessly driving twice with a suspended license - then denied under oath that she knew that she wasn't allowed to drive.
She had her sentence cut from 45 days to 23 days for good behavior - good behavior prior to being in jail (that's not how it works). She was in jail for less than 75 hours they are giving her credit for 5 days (120 hours).
What if you were being processed for the very same sentence in the same state and city and Paris spent 72 hours in jail in her own cell prior to being released while you had to spend 45 days in general population hoping that you would get out early for good behavior while rotting with your cell mate.
This really isn't about Paris, it's about the massive sense of entitlement these people think will protect them from reality and responsibility. You can blame her parents for her behavior but she's old enough to know right from wrong even if she's never had to face consequences for any of her actions or choices.
Paris has become the poster girl for a whole generation of those who are pampered, wrongly entitled, uber wealthy, without conscience and the celebrity drama whores. Maybe this will make a few others like her actually think about their own moral compass and whether it needs any adjustment.

The reason I didn't agree with her jailing is because generally people don't go to jail for a second offense either. A third is a felony and generally involves jail time.
She was sentenced to 90 days in jail because the LA DA's office is trying to get on TV in an attempt to show how hard they can be on celebrities. It was a complete publicity stunt by the LA DA's office from the start. They have lost several celebrity prosecutions (OJ ,Michael Jackson) because the DA's office is basically incompetent. Throwing the book at Paris isn't the answer for their incompetence. I agree that she broke the law , but to throw the book at her because she is a celebrity is just more injustice.
