painkillers

Hello hello,
I`m wondering if its ok to train whilst on painkillers and muscle relaxants (specifically tramadol and soma). I use them to combat lower back pain brought on by a dodgy deadlift session. As I`m on cycle I want to keep training but at the same time don`t want to become a cripple! Any views would be greatly appreciated.

I am lifting on tramadol currently. I am getting ready to start my cycle. Be careful with the tramadol. I have been on it for a year now. It says it is non addictive, but habit forming. BS. I am trying to ween myself off of them and it is almost impossible. I take 18 a day now just to get through. I just had my bloodwork done this week to see how my liver is. If it is struggling then I will postpone my cycle till I get it these damn tramadol under control.

just search around bro. there are tons of threads about this. some very good long ones recently

Yes, you totally can. I was hooked on tramadol dont let that happen to you. They say it is not addictive that is BS. When I quit them My body litterally hurt, I could barely sleep, severe depression because it is a mood elleavtion drug etc. but luckilly the withdrawal symptoms only last for about two weeks. But anyway I could work out like crazy on that shit, sweat like a pig, was a great appetite suppresant if you are cutting and not bulking, helped me sleep better but two things are one like I said they are addictive dont let them lie to you and two I do not know what it does inside your body as far as protien sythesis etc.

My #1 painkiller when necessary (please don't play in this department) is Ultram, a non narcotic (non addictive) yet very effective one. Plus it give me energy for some reason as well. Combine that with 2 Alieve (naproxen 200mg each tab) twice a day to reduce swelling in the injury.

Thats is what Tramadol is. Trust me it is addictive. Doctors told me it wasnt too. There is actually a forum on the net I found with many people that are addicted to it and trying to quit it. I took the shit for two years. Ultraset is a different version suppose to have less sides like scratchy skin. But generic for Ultram is tramadol!!! I was pretty happy because like you said it gives you a ton of energy it ellevates your mood and makes you feel all good not to mention I found it as an excellent cure for a hangover but after you end up taking more sometimes I would take up to 8 a day when you quit then you or at least I did had bad withdrawals.

i have been taking 4-6 lorcets ed for the past 3 yrs and this past week i have been "weeming" myself off. Well when i was out of pills and i couldnt find anymore i felt immense depression and i was running to the toilet every 5 min  i eventually had to go get a few just to curb the sides of coming off of em. All i can say is yes they are fun and seem harmless but if you dont have a legit use for em leave em alone

I wouldn't take a painkiller to stop you low back pain, especially if you are on cycle. Your going to make it worse and worse, then when you come off you'll be crippled, unable to workout, and lose all your gains.

Spend your money on a good chiro, or even better, ART treatments.

If you remember where that website was, let me know. I am currently down to taking 15 a day from 18 (50 mg per pill). Hell ya, they are addictive and withdrawals are vicious. Take the flu and insomnia multiply by twenty. Sucks.

Brother I WILL find it and send you the link. I know what you will go through you can always chat with me but keep checking back here I will find it. You CAN do it luckily the withdrawals are not as long as other things 2-3 weeks. I quit many addictions and keep telling yourself you deserve to be free from it because you do deserve it. Expect to go through a severe depression but keep telling yourself it is just the withdrawal It will go away. Dont do something stupid. you should start by cutting yourself down on your dosage. for some reason when I would take 8 a day even if I stopped cold turkey except for one a day the symptoms did not get that bad. Its when you totally stop that you will notice but definately start cutting your dose down. Again check back I will find it for you if it kills me or they (the pain killers) will kill you.

I agree with this advice.

Painkillers are not worth the price people pay...

Seriously, how dumb are doctors?!? non-addictive my ass, its as bad as any of the other painkillers out there. Anything with "euphoria" as a side is going to be addictive...

fuck that...... train on oxy's. Addiction is just another word. Sex is addicting and I've had withdrawals from that too.

Moderation is key, and know thyself.

Air is addicting too....., drugs are perfectly great to use "just not abuse"

If you are on painkillers and relaxants, and at the same time working out hard, how in the hell will you notice if you are making more damage to your back?? Pain exist for something; to tell us that something is not working properly in the carbon unit. I would never in my life touch a painkiller or any of those chemical poisons. I touch other type of chemicals...muahahaha

Pain meds are for those that need them to live a somewhat normal life.If you don"t need them then don"t take them.I have been on/off pain meds and muscle relaxers for at least 10yrs and only took them when needed.I have trained on them before and will again, this is something that if you plan on doing it you must be smart about it or it will take over your life.

You people must have a very high tolerance....I can take 1-2 trams and it just fucking tears me up.

I cant imagine taking 18 of them....OMG !!!!! thats unreal.

Im a lightweight when it comes to pills like that though, and Im very paranoid about coming addicted to them.

Thanks bro, I have cut it back to 15 a day. My wife is hiding them and handing them out daily. I'm trying to get it down to 12 a day by the end of this week. That is when I start my cycle. Thanks again.

does ultram give you a euphoric high? I heard that it doesn't! But I'm guessing it does since you are taking 15 a day-12. never heard of this addiction...

just did a search and found:

http://www.drugs.com/ultram.html

says it is a narcotic and can be very addictive. Everything there says that the withdrawls are the same as vicodins, etc..no wonder peeps are getting addicted to it..

very true

dude be careful taking that shit it will ruin your life. i had a surgery and got lorcets prescribed to me and i found out i liked them A LOT!!!! two years later i was in rehab i had lost my truck (ford lightning) and everything. hardest thing to come off of period. you will be sweating, cant eat, insomnia, chills, diahrrea, etc. you dont realize how addictive they are until you run out. i was up to 160mg of oxycontin ed. terrible!!! i have fully recovered though but it was hardest thing i have ever had to do. you have to want to do better for yourself before you can quit that shit. good luck man!!!

You know what's funny is for everything you guys say to try and prevent ANOTHER person from being addicted to painkillers..

Spellwin's got ad's by google where you can order them on this post.

well..us telling others to stop using pain pills is kind of hypocritical in a huge way. Sure, pain pills can benefit the user for legit reasons, sure pain pills are dangerous to our health - from the aceto, but, come on, us injecting steroids and taking other pills just to grow is really no different. It's just trading one addiction for another. Most body builders were speed addicts at one point. Or shall I say, most speed freaks become bbr's - that's just a fact..and most bbr's are true addicts in nature. I mean, come on...who, in their rightful mind , would jab themselves full of a foreign oil substance if it wasn't for their addictive behavior? I myself am guilty but I'm just pointing this out :p

..

but what we do is grow :) and it feels good too :)

I agree. I definitely have an addictive behavior. No matter what it is, I do it all out. Lucky for me, I have a wife who understands this and is helping me steer my addiction in a healthier way!!
