too bad ya dont live in CANADA. You could be runnin a grow show and get less punishment. I dont think they even charge you for drug parifanaila here. I know someone that was caught with a QP in his car and they just took it and told him to be on his way.
I think it cause they know its B.C.'s main source of economic growth.

Ok, when I got arrested for possession, I was 18 years and 3 months, old. Very unfortunate, cause I had to be tried as an adult then. Anyway, I just pleaded AR and only got 16 hours community service, and had to go to some rehab classes, and that was it. You can only use it one time in your life, but it totally clears you and deosn't even go on your record. That's how my lawyer explained it to me anyway.

DO NOT USE A PUBLIC DEFENDER! ! ! their job is to get you to plead guilty to lesser charges to speed up the court system and to save them money going to trials.

if you go to a large university or even some of the smaller ones, you can get free counsel through the university. check into that.

one thing to think about it to lie your ass off. although many ppl say not to. i have and it has saved my ass.

who said they were going to call the cops? if it's an RA or something like that. just tell the court they said they would search your room if you didn't give it up. some schools allow RA's to conduct room searches, you you'd have to look into what you agreed to when you enrolled. but if you didn't waive that right to them and said they'd search, you could get it dropped.

Plead not guilty and get an attorney. Fight that shit until they threaten you to go to trial and convince the assistant DA that you are willing to go to trial if needed. Then plead down to a much lesser offense. If you're still in school you don't want any drug charges on your record, especially if you expect to continue receiving federal financially aid. That's part of our "great" government's whole War on Drugs. Get caught smoking some weed in your dorm room and get kicked outta school or financially forced outta school, yet if you were to rape someone and you happened to be poor, you're OK b/c they'll not only let you stay in school, but also will pay for you to be in school. Whenever you get busted for possession of a controled sunbstance (in the USA)you need to deny any knowledge of possession. I don't care if the bag/paraphanelia was in your pants pocket,has your name written on it, and your fingerprints are all over it-deny! deny! deny! Of course the cops are trained to make you think your new problem will just go away if you cooperate with them and give them the 411 they want. Nothing could be further from the truth. The more 411 you give them will only create a better case against you in court-which means the tougher it will be to defend. This also means that the prosecutor will be less likely to offer you a plea bargain that you can live with. When you lie to friends, you wanna tell as close to the truth as possible. When you get busted for drugs by the cops you're better off lying 100% and denying any knowledge of having drugs in your possession and saying nothing but "I want an attorney."

I heard a guy was busted for having a small bag of weed in his pants pocket. He denied knowing about it and kept his mouth shut. He held his ground and no matter how much the cops tried to tell him his life was being torn apart he didn't break. His attorney got him off by saying he was wearing someone else's pants and didn't know the weed was there.

bro' DO NOT plead guilty to any of it!! i got caught with a fake id and the cop pulled the little bit of weed I did have out of my pocket and still got the charges dropped!! the officer arrested me under a wrongfull charge and the state new they would lose the case. if it's petty possesion plead not guilty, especially if its your 1st offense. 2ndly what the fuck are you doing smoking in a dorm room. use your head bro come on.

Never plead guilty. I had a ticket for having window tinting too dark. I got convicted in magistrate court. Our magistrates are elected officials and do not have law degrees. Basically, if the cop says you did it, then they find you guilty. Well, I appealed the conviction to the circuit court (with a real judge) I filed a pretrial motion to suppress evidence. This required another pretrial hearing. Anyways, the point is that the prosecutor just gave up and dropped the charge.
