One arm chinups..

Klown

New member
So I made a bet with a friend. I bet him 20$ a month ago that I could manage a single one arm chinup by october. Not one of those ones where you grab your wrist with the other hand, but a straight, dead hang, one arm pullup.

As of now I could probably manage about 13-15 chinups body weight if I'm havin a real good day.

So..... do I have a chance in hell? haha

Why don't you test it out...?

You hold your wrist with your other hand for support, so you're balanced. You don't actually pull with it...

be sure to only train one side...the worst thing you can do while trying to achieve your goal is equally working the other side.

jk- just make sure you dont do what i said

by october? I don't know.. the bigger you get.. the more you're gonna weigh..

I can do the same number of pullups as you and I can't even get close to a one-armer.. I've been wanting to ask a question about this actually.. how many of you guys can do them?

there was this great article about chins I'll try to find for you.. 12 pages.. and one arm was the most advanced lol

I hit seven one-armed last year in school, during gym class...

holy shit.. do you train chins everyday?

the thing I would do if you really want to win the $20 is train chinups like the army trains bench and chins.. everyday till you can hammer out 30 in a row, you might be better equipped to do a one arm then. that's terrible for muscle growth though.

I hope somebody who knows the best way to do this jumps in here

The army trains bench presses? And every day? Eh...didn't know that.

Look up "synaptic facilitation" if you want to increase your chinup numbers.

oh shit that's just the image I have of bootcamp getting fatties into shape for the first time that could just be the movies.. my bad

A one armed chinup is truely an impressive feat of strength. I consider myself good at pullups but cannot come close to a one arm pull. I think a more impressive feat would be chinning with 4 plates...
