I got him out without popping him. THank GOD! I don't have anyone here but me, the dog and the cat. I asked the cat, but she wouldn't help me.

Watch out for lyme disease now. It can take 2-5 months to even show up in bloodwork. If your dog starts to lay around much more, isn't eating much, and starts limping, take it to a vet to get checked out.

too late. I already got him. I don't have cigarettes or matches or anyone here to help. I just pulled the thing off and dry heaved a little.

Oh, thank you for the tip. I will look for those things. Is lyme disease generally easily treatable in dogs?

ME TOO! I feel ya. Had it been a leach, I would just have to take him to the vet. I can't handle leaches.

Leaches are easy - salt.

Okay, I couldn't leave that creature on my baby. I bit the bullet and pulled him off. I hope that I got all of the mouthparts out and that Corky isn't infected. Holy SHIT! I hate ticks!!!
