Light a match, then blow it out, then touch the tick with the hot end of the match. Have another person right there with tweezers to pluck it up once it feels itself getting burned. It will release tension on its legs making it easy to pluck them out.

He's off now. I just put some toilet paper over him and pulled him out. Corky sort of yelped. That thing was in tight.

eww...im traumatized for life when it comes to ticks. I saw my friends mom remove one from the side of his head when we were kids. i been scared shitless ever since.



and his dad got lime disease (this was at a summer house in Jackson New Jersey which is a pretty dense wooded area)

I know how you feel. I got one in my ear canal as a kid and my mom was in my ear with hot matches, tweezers, etc trying to get it out.

Petting the dog and found THIS fucking creature! What the hell? Guess the frontline didn't ward off this life size vampire.

I remove the normal ticks pretty well, but how the hell do I remove this thing? God, if it pops and bleeds on me, I'm going to vomit.

I heard that if you put something toxic on a tick or try to burn them, they regurgitate into the host and pose more of a threat of infecting the host with disease. I almost vomited just looking at the thing.

That's a tick. It's just enlarged from sucking a lot of blood. I would put alcohol on it and then a match (you blow the match out after lighting it and RIGHT after you blow it out you touch it to that). Then once you get it out put alcohol on the dogs skin to kill whatever else may be remaining.

When I brought Thira back from Greece- those things were manifested all over her body but they were the size of dimes. It was truly nasty.
