Ok I just let me 6 1/2 year old go down the street

by himself for the first time. I mean, he has wondered off before without my permission LOL but this time he asked if he could go down to his friend's house to get him and come right back and after I laid down the groundrules (i.e. be back here in T minus 5 min or suffer my wrath) he seems amenable to cooperating and actually being mature enough to handle the task. Im watching him ride down the street now in his green machine but I can only see so far. The house is about 5 houses down and there are no sidewalks here but good thing is we live on a dead end/cul de sac so no traffic.

Oh wait he's back already with friend in tow. Good i can breathe now.

Does it seem overly protective of me?

Yesterday had the scare of my life.. I'm resting my head hurting like hell and my kids were out playing ball with my brother... so it gets quiet. I go out and eh.. no one there! Figured they were with my bro so I call... nope!

HOLY SHIT.. I panic! Screaming for them, and nothing... so a few minutes pass and here comes my son, on his bike mind ya..

They had decided they would visit a neighbor and well... mom wasn't important enough to know where they were. One thought the other told me and the other thought the other told me...
