Ok i have a question on my car

If the engine, injection system, and ignition system were all running properly, then the vehicle would perform well with 87 octane fuel. Running it on 89 is just a band-aid to compensate for problems elsewhere. It needs maintenance, take it to a good mechanic. You've been wasting money on overpriced high octane fuel to save the effort and expense of getting it running right, which is false economy.

Alright, how many miles are on the car? What is your maintainence schedule like? When was the last time that any maintainence was done on the car? This should help narrow it down.

Automotive problems come for two problems:

1 - Fuel

2 - Fire

Oh, Forgot to say don't worry about the grade of gasoline, unless your running 11:1 cp or 20 lbs of boost through that thing. All the rating does is change the ignition point of the gas.

Those friggin vans ROCK...!! One of my fraternity bro's in college had one....OMG party on 4 wheels......

I would take to a GOOD mechanic, not some shade tree place, and have them do a full tune up on it, well first have them see if it throws any codes. Then put in Spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor, wires, fuel filter, air filter, fluid change, clean out the EGR and IAC, maybe fuel system cleaner. See if that does the trick. The thing I would do first is hook up ascanner and see if it is throwing any codes, you can get them at autozone, or any parts store and they will tell you what systems are failing on the car.

Man, ain't nothing like a ho hauler. My boy in high school had a '75 swb chevy van with flowmasters, and crager ss wheels. It was primered with abeastie boys sticker on the windshield and a "if this vans a rockin' don't come a knockin'" bumper sticker on it. It also had a couch in the back, and a buble glass sunroof that was more like a chimney. :p
