it is bullshit that someone can win the popular vote and lose the election...i thought every vote counted...when i found out that it didn't i was extremely disappointed...new york and california get to decide who wins?? fuck that shit.

oh yeah...i know...i was just soooo bummed when at like 19 years old, i found out that my vote didn't mean as much as they told me it did...it was a huge disappointment for me when i finally understood how the system worked.
No union PACs I could agree with. No PACs at all would be my preference. I'm not against corporations, or unions, contributing directly to the campaigns, with a defined ceiling.
Yeah but they lost the popular vote as well.
and this is preciesly why i like the electoral college...it gives us middle america residents a voice in the political system, instead of letting urban elites forever dictate our political destiny.

i could agree to that, no super PAC of any stripe and a strict limit to individual contributions.
and what about a national voting standard for showing ID?

Your vote still matters, stop saying it doesnt. I talked to way too many people who didn't vote yesterday because they wanted to bitch and moan about the electoral college. Then the state was decided by a few thousand votes. In a close race each vote absolutely matters.
And there is a lot more to vote than the president.

Agreed. Does anyone honestly think a balanced budget will pass to stop the automatic sequester in January. It's not gonna happen. I agree with election reform. But I live in New England it all goes blue every election. He'll in ma where I live the booted out Scott brown. The first senator in this state who actually did what he said in lieu of a very liberal democrat who outright admitted to tax increases and more gov involvement.
To be honest I lose 44% of my commissions to taxes as is and I'm in a different bracket every year. With what's coming up over he next four years your screwed if you make a decent living.

Of course we have shit to worry about. I would have liked to seen a change in the Presidential selection, not going to lie but I don't really think it would've changed much...my Gf's dad lives in Holland and he said the European economy is fucking destroyed. That hurts us all big time

Very few countries have this sort of (direct/ vote by vote) electoral system... you're supposed to give overrepresentation to the minories...
PS: I don't like it either.
How is that different from this time? Hell, they started having Republican debates in the Fall of 2011.

We only care about your elections because of how fucked up the states are and the direct Implications on us. Not to mention our tv is filled with American channels and media that bombard us with elections starting 2 years before it even happens. As for our elections they can be called at anytime if we feel our Pm is blowing it, or every 5 years. Thankfully Canada is making new connections and treaties so that we don't have to rely on the states as for moving to a country that matters I wouldn't live anywhere else our economy is quite stable, try not to drag the world down with you guys.
i used to make fun of canada, me and my arrogant tool friends would travel to ontario thinking we were superior.
now i feel the exact opposite, if it was feasible to move i would consider it, seems a much more harmonious and rational thinking country

a good military leader IMO would've come clean before getting caught, if that is what happened, not gotten caught then cashed in.

I'm not a hypocrite because I've never cheated or had an affair; I've made mistakes in life but never broken an oath. I still respect my oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
There is no timeline for the affair, he left the military in August 2011; He met the alleged mistress in 2006 and the biography was published in January 2012. She was promoted to light colonel this year...I'm sure that's a coincidence. The FBI hit the trail because she was sending threatening e-mails to another chick he was probably banging.

Never broken an oath. I know you have a constitution without amendments because you most likely support the Hamiltonians; The entire point of the Amendments was to prevent your Hamiltonian authoritarian government; That can do as it pleases disregarding the rule of law.
