No more gains; can’t sleep.

Hi, I am new to this board and was looking to get some advice on what to do.

I started training about 4 months ago, and saw a lot of gains in around the past 3 months – my weight went from 140lb to 170lb.

My problem is that I am not seeing gains any more and I can’t sleep more than 7 hrs.

I am not sure if I should start cutting, my waist has gone from 32” to 34”, but I want to bulk up more my chest is 42”, and chest and shoulders are 49”, but I want to increase that with out much more of an increase in my waist size.

I am on the following supplements:
Nlarge2 (post), Pure Whey (mid day), Protein Factory Casein, Whey Egg mix (Night)
Flax Oil
Creatine
Multivitamin
Fiber Powder (before bed)

I just started taking:
Liver Tabs and ZMA …. Have not noticed any effect’s though, like better sleep/dreams or the ability to lift more weight.

I am normally eating around 6 meals a day and used to be able to sleep 8-9 hrs a day. I train 2 body parts a day 5 days a week.

Other info about me – Age 22, Height 5’ 9”, Weight 170lb, BF 13%.

Thanks for any responses!!!

Bro if you work out for any length of time you will go through many peaks and valleys. You're not going to see a constant steady climb from week to week. 30lbs in 3 weeks - you have nothing to complain about, don't think that's going to continue for long. You seem to be doing things correct, however 5 days a week would be overtraining for me.

First Welcome Bro,
genarr3 is correct. I believe for most of us the workout schedule you are on 2 bodyparts a day 5 days a week is overtraining. All the symptoms you are describing are classic syptoms of overtraining!!! I assume since you did'nt say that you are not on AS? What does your workout schedule look like?

Your looking too much to supplements to do it for you. Eat clean six or seven times a day. ALso, as for training 2 times a day and trying to build mass, your overtraining. That is why youa re having problems sleeping. Cut it back to four times a week and try training each bodybpart once a week. Youll see more gains if you get your diet in order and train properly for an hour or an hour and a half at a time. Also, i experienced that if you htink about lifting too mcuh for a long period of time your going to burn out. Make a plan and stick to it. Youll see alot more gains than wasting all your money on supplements. peace

yes take it easy on the supps most are a waste of money eat proper wholesome food 6 times aday train 3 times a week max drink plenty of water get 8 hours sleep stay stress free you will see good results...

Thanks for the welcomes :)

The only reason I am traiing that often is because I can't target all my body parts in one session, this is my present rotation:

Legs
Chest/Triceps/Biceps
Back/Shoulders.

If I don't do at least 6/7 sets per part i don't feel the pain, I am not satisfied, and in one work out with 6/7 sets thats all I can do.
The other thing is that if I were to train just 3 days a week with 2 parts a day ... my chest wouldn't get a work every 5 days or so!!!

No I am not on any AS, I was consdering 1-AD or 19nor, but I couldn't justify the benefits over the side effects ... specfically the hair loss ... I am suffering some mild hair loss as it is.

Thanks!!
