Ok girls......a couple diet questions....... I am turning a new leaf.....and I never ever pay attention, as some of you might know by now , so have heart and bare with me :)

First : I gotta have my coffee in the morning---- use to load it with 2 tsp of sugar, and good old french vanilla creamer. What can I load it with now ?? Black and plain aint gonna do it :) I could drop the java...... but crave it in the morning.

Two: I was at the grocery store, and comparing their brand of natural PB with regular old Jiff. Found that this particular brand of natural had only 1 gram less of sugar. Should I get it somewhere else?? Or is that about right???? In the grocery store, they had only one brand of the natural.

I love pancakes....what type of syrup do you all suggest??? I guess a big dollup of butter is out :bawling: I did find a good recipe for pancakes......3 egg whites and 1/2 cup of oats, sprinkled with cinnamin and equal.....mushed all together to make the flap jacks :) Am going to try it......

Thanx in advanced anyone :)

Thanx Spatterson....i am making my grocery list for tomorrow now ...... gracias mucho for the coffee tips-- I am a bitch without it first thing in the morning--not a pretty sight :(

How many grams of sugar in your Smuckers brand of PB??

Ann,
I use the WWS or Myoplex shakes in coffee... only takes a little to get the cream-like effect... 1 carton lasts about 10 cups... choc or vanilla....you might like it.

Haven't had the Jif, but the major advantage to natural pb is lack of hydrogenated fats... natural is peanuts only... not as creamy though.

Cottage cheese, 2 egg whites and 1 scoop protein make a pretty good pancake... I don't use syrup on 'em- they're good as is (I like 'em anyway)
just a few ideas for ya' :)

for my coffee... i use land-o-lakes fat free half and half.. only 3 carbs in 2 tablespoons!! and then of course a packet of equal.

pb... i use whatever ( i personally am not worried about the fat grams too much and don't eat it too often)

and the pancakes... that is a good recipe... BUT i would also throw in a scoop of protein and a 1/2 apple

have fun :)

ann-

Kick the regular butter, there's a better substitute. Go for the Spray Butter (I can't believe its not butter, brand) Its sooooo good, you'll love it, I promise.

As for coffee, use skim milk and Equal.

Syrup... hmmm. I dont know about that one, you'll have to really search the food labels at the store.

This is what I did for the coffee.... I used 2 spoonfulls in my coffee... the first week I used 1 1/2 spoonfulls...didn't notice much of a difference... 2nd week.....1 spoonfull....slight difference but by the end of the week it was fine... 3rd week... 1/2 teaspon.... hardly noticed....... now I just through a tad of sugar in (less than 1/2 a teaspon)

OK ANN im here 4 ya girl!

Coffee... grrrr Thats what I say without it !!! But I don't put anything in it! But I have a secret.... I buy the flavored coffee beans like french vanilla, hazlenut cream, butterpecan. They also have more caffeine in them!!! (My sister works at a coffee shop) So with those beans I can drink it black! Believe me, i never could before but with these you can!

And not sure if you guys have President's Choice brand food, but I buy PC brand "Just Peanuts" and thats all it is, just peanuts...

Maple syrop....pure stuff :)

Good Fllame TV :) Thanx so much ladies and gents ..... got my list ready for the supermarket today.

I do buy the flavored coffee, and will suffer with the black until I make it to the store this morning--grrr :)

Really appreciate the help everyone :) Must admit, weights are a cinch.......diet is my trouble . Hope this helps someone else also :)

Don't know if this is "legal" or not, or even if your grocery stores sell them, but I buy the sugar free syrup in the diabetic section in our grocery store. 1/4 cup = 0 sugar, 4 carbs and 10 calories. It tastes just like regular syrup too! For the "pancakes" I put 1/4 cup oats, 4 egg whites, 1/4 cup water, 2 scoops protein powder, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla and either 1 tsp cinnamon or 1 tsp cocoa powder in a blender and then cook in a pan with Pam. I really like them alot! I also add either 1 tsp Smucker's nat PB or flax oil. Everyone elses sound good too!!!
