Nikki Beach = waaaaay overrated!

Went to Nikki Beach this past Sunday. My wife and I were in South Beach and the Keys for vacation. My buddy is dating a chick who works at the Loews and she knows one or two people who work at Nikki. Our ladies got in for free (which was cool) and me and my buddy paid $20 each. The crowd there was pretty sad. Dudes were wearing Gap-like tank tops, w/jeans. Wanna-be pretender ladies tripping over themselves because they HAD to wear the over-sized lense sunglasses that come in pink and blue lenses. Wearing sunglasses at night is stupid. Nearly every hot girl there had a tit job. What a fake, plastic scene! Some of these women bring ZERO to the table past their physical beauty. Then there was this one cheeseball who looked like the WCW wrestler Razor Ramone/Scott Hall. Some dudes there even had Ron Jon t-shirts on with cargo shorts and sandals! I thought they were more strict at Nikki's about the dress code. I got g'd up in my linen pants and a tight fitting polo type shirt (from A/X) and was dressed up. I also saw a lot a fatties (fat ass women) prowling around. Needless to say, I was really very disappointed. I would never go there again although the place itself was phat. I loved the way they did the place up with the long, flowing curtains (like the Delano sort of) and the fact that is on the beach is cool too. THE CROWD HOWEVER BLEW!

Opium Garden is THE place to go. My wife and I went there early (9:30 PM) on Friday. Living in Denver 9:30 PM is like 1:00 AM in NYC and Miami. The door man told us that they weren't open (he was there still taking dinner parties). He was really cool and said we could buy the tickets early ($20 each) and return at 11:00 PM and even cut the line! Opium was hot! Very selective and exclusvie as far as the crowd. The place is beautiful too! Some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen; definitely more exclusive (at least now it is) than Nikki Beach.

I knew I was in trouble when I asked our cabby Saturday night where the hot spots were. His personal favorite was Nikki Beach. I should have known given his appearance that I would be in trouble and be disappointed with Nikki Beach. Oh well, I wish I had seen Mynt, Crobar and Tantra. Too much sun and beer and food wore us out during the day...

i was down there on fri and sat i dont know what seen you like but nikki's is like a preparty to get ready for opium

fri night at opium was sick as well and space after hours

sat night crobar was blowin up too

as for having a "hookup" at nikki's ......ummmmmmmmmmm you still paid 20 to get in at both clubs

the dress code is whatever goes at nikki's too but maybe it would be funner if everyone dressed like you HUHHHH????

The funny thing is that with the SoBe scene like it is it so easy to tell the out-of-town or bridge-and-tunnel crowd (from main Miami), because they dress up too much.

I roll into any club wearing jeans and black shirt, maybe sleeveless if my tan is right and I'm pumped.

At nikki I wear the same shit but with sandals.

Nikkis is the place to be eccentric, I once wore a fur coat there.

Fuck, if you're a local you can do whatever you want. I rode into Pearl with a black sleeveless, diesels, and a studded 80's rock belt during the WMC.

As far as the ladies, they're the cream of the crop at nikki's, anyone can back me up on that.

You prolly went on the wrong night (any night other than Sunday is wrong for Nikki).

My 'hook-up' saved me $20, plus we didn't have to deal with the a-hole at the door, who was making many people stand around. Maybe it was an 'off night'? Who knows?

No, it wouldn't be FUNNER if everyone dressed like me. All I did was 'express' my opinion about Nikki's. I thought the ladies were waaaay overated. Just MY opinion though.

My point about the dress code at Nikki's was off-base. I just talked to my friend (who was out of town Sunday) and he said Nikki's has changed (gotten worse) and it is more of a 'beach' crowd then most clubs in South Beach. He's only lived there three years, but I am sure you are the resident expert.

Hell you think the older, pathetic, desperate crowd at The Roxy in O-town is the place to be; that just shows your taste (or lack thereof) in clubs. The Roxy is a joke! I lived in O-town so I know that first hand.

On a serious note, thanks for the recommendations Nikolai - I'll check it out next time...

i wasn't knocking your style, I was merely suggesting that the environment is better when there is a vast difference between styles. South Beach is all about vanity ,YEs your'e right
i have seen some ridiculous looking shit but there are still alot of beautiful women.

As for Roxy's you are way off

Roxy's and Antigua are the sickest clubs in Orlando hands down.

But I prefer being down on South Beach for sure

OK...sorry bro. I went off 'a little'. When I was O-town a little over a year ago, The Roxy on Friday and Saturday was full of older women. Not too good looking and the bottom the barrel of from what you'd see at Houston's on a Thursday night or at Brio on a Friday. It's all good. We are all here on this board for similar reasons. I always lied Kate's (drunk younf sority type chicks) and Latitudes what also cool (the crowd was hit or miss, but the place was pretty cool. The Blue Room and Zinc Bar were two others I liked. I was all over though. From Cocunuts, to Universal to Disney, to Orlando Ale House etc...

When I went to Nikki's there were a good number of very nice looking boob jobs, but so what this is the age of surgery and drugs to enhance the body.

i went in Feb sun/Mon/Tue so I did not get to catch any other nice clubs.

saw some punks fighting on the beach. beach patrol came and took those suckers to jail. hahaa!

Nicki's is what Monty's was many years ago in the Grove TIMES ten; ie:full of hot babes, relaxed (you don't have to be mr GQ to go in, etc.

OK. I was further off base on this than I thought. I wasn't expecting Nikki's to be how it is, but now that I've thought about it, it really isn't that bad. I guess I wasn't preapred for such a laid back crowd (which is actually cool).
