I went to a little private college and we always had class on holidays. The only reason I'd even remember that it was labor day etc was because the mail wouldn't arrive. I have to work tomorrow-- and because we're closed Tues/Wed it's going to be month end. It won't exactly be a picnic as that's the busiest day of the month for me. It should be an adventure of a day since it'll be my first day back in a week. ;)

Oh, I actually allow my students to get off on labor day, but that is because I figure it's the only time they have to rest. You see, this semester is winter constraint; thus, I only have 4 weeks to teach a whole semester worth of material, so that is the reason I keep them on the holidays. Especially the MBA students.

I hope your workload isn't too much....have a great holiday!

Hey Gymtime. ;)

And Mr. X-- speed learning is fun! That's how my college was set up. 9 courses a year, 1 semester's worth of work per month. I loved it. You lived your subjects. Nothing like 8 hours of chem in a day to make someone smile. I personally think challenging myself like that is fun. It's also nice to focus completely on one topic rather than juggle multiple mindsets.

I took my Ph.D. (including the thesis) in 3 years total, all I did was learn and research and research some more. IT WAS FUN!
