ridley scott has the midas touch. alien, blade runner, gladiator, thelma & louise, and black hawk down were all hits.

I expect this to be great, but not excellent. It will not be a "Gladiator". no more than 88% and no lower than 83% on rotten tomatoes.

I think Russel Crowe is a little long in the tooth to play Robin Hood and as much as I LOVE Kate Blanchette, she's not the great beauty Maid Marion should be.

Still, good people and great director; I'll take my son to see it on the big screen.

That looks exactly the same as Braveheart. Not that it will be bad, but it looks pretty much identical, right down to the inspiring speeches before battle.

He's smart though - a whole generation of kids hasn't seen Braveheart since it came out 15 years ago.
