Hi, I'll be testing the new portable oxygen supp from needtobuildmuscle.com/mrsupps.com and keeping a log of my experiences here. If it does everything Neeto says it can this will be THE No1 must have supp for anyone involved in sports!:supercool

Wait!!!! What!

Damn it! I want to try........

All he said was, it's in a spray can. I'll let you know how it's used when it arrives...

OK, oxygen4 energy just arrived this morning! That was much quicker than I expected. Only 7 days, I usually wait weeks for stuff from the US.

Thanks again Needto :)

I intended to use it for recovery between sparring rounds (kickboxing) as there's no training till the first week in January, next Thursday I'll just have to wait. Unless anyone can think of something else I could try it on. I'm not sure my lifting is really advanced enough to benefit…

Usually what happens is I manage 3x2 min rounds with 1 min rest between rounds. Then I'll rest 8 mins before doing it again, second time around I start running out of breath after the first round. I'm planning on using the oxygen4energy two ways.
Firstly after my first 3 rounds I'm going to see if it helps my recovery before the next 3.
Secondly without using it after the first three rounds I'll use it in between rounds to see how it affects recovery with only 1 min. - I can't wait to see how this works!

As I understand it there are around 50 pumps in the can and you need between 5-10 per serving.

Right I couldn't wait. Today I was just doing some cardio, due to time constraints (I'm at work) I wasn't able to do my usual 45 mins so I decided to do a MetCon circuit. Just in case anyone doesn't know, MetCon is short for METabolic CONditioning and it's basically a really short very intense circuit with just a few exercises.
I did squat thrusts, press ups and burpees no stopping between exercises, as soon as you've done one you jump straight into the next and rotate through them until you've done no more than 10 mins, I usually get too knackered after 5-6 mins

Today I managed just over 6 mins which was a little less than 5 full circuits 10 reps per exercise.

As soon as I was done I reached for the oxygen4energy, took 5 squirts in between gasps! (You gotta time it so you squirt as you're breathing in). In just over a minute I was nearly breathing normally again! It would normally take nearer 3 mins to get my breath back. I'm not noticing the lactic acid in my legs so much either it's still there but nowhere near as bad as it usually is. :) so far so good with this product. Great for recovery. Now just to use it sparring!

I also used it on a mate of mine who came off the treadmill as I was leaving. He was bent over, hands on knees gasping. "here ya go mate, breathe deep as I spray" I said. 4 squirts was all it took, by the third one his breathing was normal, no gasping nor heavy or rapid breathing. He was SHOCKED! 😃

Here's something else I've noticed. Shortly after I left the gym I noticed I was feeling good. Kinda light even, not light headed (don't take any notice of Tyler Durden) more like light on my feet if you get what I'm saying. I can't feel any fatigue in my arms & legs at all right now!

Nice man. Can't wait to read more about this. Especially when you box since you definitely know your body and how much rest you normally need. I'm excited to hear how it goes.

I can't wait either, I'm hoping it'll give me an advantage over the kids who run rings round me! Lol! My stamina ain't what it used to be.

I would sure like to try this to see how far it would take me thru my intense training scession.

Have you started this yet bro?

Yep, used it yesterday (the 30th) for recovery after training. I'll be trying it out kickboxing next week.

From what I've seen/experienced so far it's great for recovery, getting your breathing back to normal after anything that gets you seriously out of breath. I haven't tried it while lifting yet. But I've got a theory it'll be helpful getting past a sticking point like just as you reach failure.

that was my theology

I am extremely eager to see the results of this log! This is a revolutionary step for training !

Well I may make this log a tad longer. I'm gonna order some more as there are many things I'd like to test it on and I've used 20% of the bottle already.

I am training for a mudder in the spring so I am wicked interested in this..............

Bang on! All I need is three blasts and I'm breathing normally again.

Right guys, I sparred tonight :D
As it was the first class of the new year they figured they'd destroy us tonight!

So after warm up, circuits, bag work and drills it sparring kit on. As I was already pretty trashed I decided to catch my breath before sparring… so I took 5 pulls on oxygen4energy. Within seconds I was breathing normally, it took a little longer for my heart rate to calm down.

Bout 1:
As per usual I went on the offensive, attack and pressure. After 2 mins I was trashed! I took 4 pulls of oxygen (all I had time for) in the minute rest.
Second round started well, in fact it felt like I was starting the first round all over again… it didn't last though, about halfway through the round (about a minute) I started getting knackered again. Another 3 pulls at the end of the round. Wasn't quite as recovered for round 3 but still better than I would normally be.

Bout2: ok so I was lucky enough to get paired with this guy who is mustard and I mean bloody good. So when the instructor said "hands only" I breathed a sigh of relief and went to town! I find that most pure kickboxers (only ever trained in kickboxing) are fairly crap boxers (just hands). Nowhere near as tired after the first round but still out of breath so 3 pulls of oxygen then back into round 2. Again I barely got touched! Felt like Muhammed Ali in there! By the end of the round I was more out of breath than the end of the first so I took another 3 pulls. Halfway (ish) through the third round I was tired again. Pushed through as usual but managed to get caught a few times. Nothing solid mind.

Bout3: back to kicking and punching. By now I was starting to feel like I would usually feel in round 2 of bout 2. So after the end of the round I took a full 5 pulls rather hurriedly second round went well but I started slowing down and throwing less shots, moving around less too. So I took another 5 pulls before the last round, when the round started I was still out of breath and halfway through I seriously slowed down. After the bout ended I had a full 10 pulls of oxygen and as usual my breathing returned to normal quickly although as mentioned before, my heart was still racing. I'm gonna have to use a heart rate monitor to test the effects on HR recovery.

Ok in conclusion, after one session, I gotta say I did the same number of bouts but in a much quicker time. I usually rest much longer between bouts, 8 mins is the max rest you can take between sparring bouts and I was taking 3. This product, for me, is GREAT for recovery (breathing) but it won't turn you into superman. It essentially cuts down your whole workout time by reducing the time spent resting. I still have just less than half a can left by my guesstimation and was planning on trying it out lifting next.

I have one concern about its use for Martial arts training or any training where anaerobic/aerobic endurance is the goal. Simply that if used too often you could get too used to recovering quickly and when competing I'm pretty sure they won't allow me to use it between rounds! Therefore I'd recommend it's use for extra hard training sessions or when you're pushed for time.

Of course, I can't prove this as I'd have to do a much longer term study... Which is why I'm ordering a bulk pack from Mrsupps to see if it does negatively affect recovery after constant use.

This log isn't finished by any means. As I said, I still have half a can left and I plan on trying it out when I lift. Although at this moment I'm on my first week of SL 5x5 so my weights are very light.

Ok I've tried to be as detailed as possible here and include everything I could however I'm sure I've missed something if anyone has any questions please ask!

:D

Another thing I've noticed, today I was double fatigued, now this may be down to the fact that I've done squats three times this week (SL5x5) or because I could push myself that much harder last night while sparring. The latter seems to make most sense. Recovering better allows you to go that much harder in your next round, set, whatever! Which would lead to more soreness. which from a bodybuilding perspective would be a good thing no? Not the extra soreness but the extra stimulation of the muscle fibres.

Having said all that, hitting the squat rack 3 times a week plus kickboxing and all the other cardio I've been doing has had my legs working fairly hard most days, I usually only train legs once a week and it takes about 3 days to recover and yes this is on top of kickboxing & boxing training.

The thing about oxygen supplementation is that it is great but the effects are only during and shortly after the actual ingestion of the product because once you begin to breath normal air the ratio in your body returns quickly back to pre intake levels....

that is why you see pro athletes wearing the masks on the sidelines to recover from their short duration high intensity efforts and get their rear back on the lines...

That is the difference between o2 ingestion versus altitude training or a chamber....

great recovery aid and I am def in

def good points here

Sorry it's been so long since my last post, I've had a few problems which have prevented me from training. My doctor has told me not to lift anything heavier than myself with my legs as I have plantar fasciitis, until the podiatrist (foot doctor) gives me the go ahead I can't run, squat, deadlift or do anything which would put extra stress on my foot.

I had a toothache which prevented me rating properly for 10 days and I was on painkillers which made me drowsy so I stayed out of the gym.

I'm planning on trying out the oxygen4energy during some pull ups, for some reason I got very bad at pull ups after I returned to the gym at the beginning of the week. Dunno if it was the lack of food for a week and a half or the lack of training. But I found 5 sets of 5 too hard on the last reps of the last couple of sets. These were unweighted too.

I'll update Monday after I've been to the gym.

sucks to hear about all those problems you got going on but its good your still here and slowly recovering. hope you get better soon.

Thanks bro, I'm training round the injury. Sucks that I still can't squat though!

Right I'm I'm the gym right now, using oxygen4energy between sets of pull ups.

Started of with 3 blasts, breathing returned to normal but when I started the next set I still hit a sticking point on the last rep.

Tried 5 blasts and the sticking point was lessened but still there.

6 blasts and no sticking point and a slightly better than usual pump in my biceps.

Ok so the further I progressed through my sets the more blasts I needed.

I did 8 sets total, 6 blasts seems to be the sweet spot for me up till halfway through (4th set) after that I used 10 blasts twice, and that I believe us the end of this can. :( just need to wait for a sale at mrsupps so I can buy myself more...
