New F-22 Raptor jets spooking pilots

and apparently the military is trying to keep them quiet about it.

Two F-22 Raptor pilots have said publicly that not only are they afraid to fly the most expensive fighter jets in American history, but the military has attempted to silence them and other F-22 pilots by threatening their careers.

"There have been squadrons that have stood down over concerns. And there's been threat of reprisals," F-22 pilot Josh Wilson told CBS News' "60 Minutes" Sunday. "There's been threat of flying evaluation boards clipping our wings and doing ground jobs. And... in my case, potentially getting booted out of the Air Force.

"So right now there's an example being set of, 'Hey, if you speak up about safety, you're going to be out of the organization,'" Wilson said.

Despite the Air Force's glowing descriptions of the next-generation jet as America's future of air dominance, as an ABC News "Nightline" investigation broadcast last week found, unknown problems with the plane's oxygen system have already contributed to the death of one pilot, the near-death of another and mid-air scares for dozens more.

More here.

Leave it to the government to think they can get away with whatever they want. Such bullshit if true.

Any system without profit and loss will create these results....

How many states manufacture parts for the f-22? The military industrial complex is alive and well...

It takes an act of congress to kick out an officer. Even in a court martial an officer can't even be reduced in rank. I say it's BS that they will be kicked but as for the safety issues, only manufacturer or pilots can really say.

Wow the man said something I agree with about the Armed forces.

didn't the Navy have crazy problems with the plane that can articulate the props to hover like a helicopter---and it was ignored and they are in service now--and crash quite often--2 a couple of months ago in the same week? In fact, if I remember the Navyy said it did not want the plane but congress went ahead anyway (same with the f-22)......military industrial complex indeed.

air force pilots have brass like nobody here can even fathom...if they think the thing is flying coffin for some reason then there's a problem. For years the air force made fun of the new Mig for crashing at air shows a bit too frequently...this is embarrassing for them and potentially calls into question the whole program.

They had the same problems with the Harrier, F-18A-B, G-F and Ospry.
New shit has Kinks.
DrOiD BioNiC EF App!

That's the VM-22 osprey. It's Marine not Navy.

The prob was the air filtration unit on it. It was sucking up so much sand in Iraq and the Stan causing it to blow and crash. Its been fixed and is now one of the best machines we have!
