Never would have thought they'd be so good at it, it's a shame men practicing most rythmic & dancing arts (ballet, belly dancing, flamenco, etc) are accused of being or at least looking mo but these dudes really freaking rock, the first one is better than most chicks out there...







I admit the twilight-like sparkle doesnt hel the first one :D
 
There's a reason that men shouldn't ever do that.

It's supposed to be a feminine dance. It's supposed to be sexy.

Watching that is just uncomfortable.

I will never watch those clips....men are never sexy and are incapable of being sexy....Wiminz are sexy and menz are functional...this has been covered in the nudist Seinfeld episode.

Honest to my word I would rather watch all three twilight movies back to back then ever see glitter boy again. I'm more comfortable with male ballerina's then I am with what I just saw. WTF?

Anyway, my point is a son telling his father... 'Dad, I just wanna dance, Belly style!!!'.

That would not be pretty.

WOW!! that was awesome! They're both really talented. I'd pay to see the first guy; he's very flexible, graceful, and fluid in his movements. Second guy was awesome too, but i thought he was a bit rigid, not as flowly as the first guy.

anywho, i love this type of dancing and thought that was beautiful.


P.S. you guys suck. our Patriarchal society and these ideas of masculinity and femininity we're so fond of maintaining are the stupidest limitations we use to 'imprison' ourselves into certain roles. hopefully we'll move beyond our irrational social prejudices soon; society's rejection of social objectivity is dumb.

I agree "up to a certain line"....and those guys crossed it. You could drive through the Castro in SF and not see anything as silly as that and in the castro you're likely to see guys "literally" having sex down some of the side streets. To each their own I'd never tell someone they shouldn't do something but male bellydancing is too far. If I had a son and he told me he wanted to be in ballet I swear on my word I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'd tell just as long as you take some martial arts you can do fuck all you want. If my son told me he wanted to sprinkle glitter on his back and bellydance, well.....that would be about my tapping my limit. If you're gay you're gay, fine......but sprinkles/glitter? C'mon now...that's angering. I guarantee there's crossdressers out there that would point at that dude and go "omg what a fag!".

what if ur son is totally str8 but really talented and can make a lot of money by sparkling in glitter and dancing? the part about letting ur kid do ballet if he takes martial arts confirms that u do think it's gay, belly dancing isnt really part of occidental culture so i understand u guys see it gay, I am very glad Evony liked it and I agree the first one is better than the second one, the second one dances revving up the crowd in a male stripper kin da way....

The martial arts thing isn't about male machismo. If the boy is going to be a ballet dancer he'd better know how to throw a punch cause he's going to take ALOT of shit for it. How many dudes are going to risk getting their asses kicked by Barishnikov jr if he's proven he can drop fools?

And it's not that I necessarily see the belly dancing as gay...someone could swear up and down that dude number one is 100% pussy loving straight, I would say fine but that's not the point. Who he goes to bed with is his business.....it just looks absolutely unrespectable. I can't quantify it better right now.....but male ballet dancers are more legit in my book. I could totally imagine a gay dude walking up to that cat and saying...jesus man you look like a right poofter. :rainbow:

Thats just bs. I hate aspects of social conditioning more than anyone but these are just men being feminine and that to me is not appealing to watch. From a purely objective view even, it still doesn't look anywhere near as impressive as when a woman does it because they don't have the curves to create the illusion from front on.

What you stated is just personal preference, which is fine. I personally don't have a problem watching that and dont find it revolting at all. So you must assume that with the disapproving club also comes a fan club.

I've also heard doing the coreography and singing it outloud helps :D
