Holly shit, sex never again..... :worried:

For a couple of days I thought I was preggers (even though I'm on the same birth control I've been on for years) a million things went through my head about how that is my fucking luck, barely get some and wind up preggers, should I take a test or wait a little more but why delay the inevitable, should I tell my husband or will it freak him out and hence less sex happens.... fml... what do I do if I'm pregnant? do I want it? where do I find a freaking Dr, diapers? belly? holly fucking shit it was hell..... you men are lucky you dont have to go through these irrational thoughts...

Turns out I'm not but holly cow these have been torturous days :worried: makes me wanna have even less sex :worried:

How would having a kid right now affect your lives?

No , I dont worry about getting my girlfriend pregnant because I have had a vasectomy , and you cannot get someone pregnant. Do you know what a Vasectomy is? Its when they cut the Vas-Deferens , the tube that carries sperm to the testes and clamp it. I got divorced in 07.

Those minutes after the test were horrid, my whole body was shaking, after discussing it with my husband he said that if it happened he would be ok with it, I on the other hand not so much.... but if he's on board that I'd probably keep it.... I rather have 2 full time jobs and him be a stay at home dad :D

Don't get me wrong, I love kids. I want one someday with the right person at the right time.
Just not yet, I need to do some traveling and take care of myself first.
It's funny, now I've been getting the "do you have any kids" "are you married" question. ughhh so annoying
When I tell them "no" they look at me like i have two heads. Like why, what are you waitting for...

Being married it's worse, they assume it's "the next step" I've been called all sorts of names for not wanting to have children, I've been told I'm selfish, I'm ignorant and stupid for not understanding how much of a blessing they are... How will I miss something I never had!? :whatever:

I had the same pressure...I caved after the 5th year. I wouldn't take it back though. I always wanted kids. :) It was just a matter of when.
 
Do whatever makes your spouse and yourself happy. I know a couple that is around 35 years old with no kids. They get to go travel and they do awesome stuff together. They have no plans to ever have kids.
 
i think it's a compliment when peeps ask you when you're gonna have kids, cause it probably means you aren't a fuck up and would make a good parent

This is exactly what we do, mom pressures a lot because she has no grand children and she's the only one in her family who has none and she LOVES babies, I on the other hand do not feel even comfortable around them I've held only 3 babies in my life and because I was forced or it was urgent.... I was honestly quite terrified and a million things crossed my mind.... I thought it was pretty impossible given I use birth control and have used the same one fine for years but I had to make sure after a week being late... hopefully now i saw I'm not I'll relax and nature will take it's course.... I'll tell you what I DONT feel like doing.... having sex :worried:

If I ever had to have a kid I'd like to be around it as much as I can and if possible be an at home mom, and to be honest I enjoy my work (even though I'm not doing my line of work right now) too much, therefore cant have both, seeing how I know the joy of my job and dislike the idea of a child than going childless is even more appealing.
 
I never wanted kids, never held a baby, nothing before I had my first. I hated other peoples kids too (I know, I know, ima bitch). But once I had my first I couldn't imagine life without him. He is my buddy, total momma's boy, we can just talk and laugh for hours.


My youngest ruined me for all other children. He is wild little bugger. But just when he pisses me off to the point that I am seriously gonna put a boot up his scrawny little ass, he stops, tells me that he is waaaaay too cute to get yelled at and gives me this toothy grin with the biggest overbite. Then he does what I say. He is the most adorably aggravating person I have ever met.

I have two sets of friends that are in their 40's without kids, one couple from infertility and one couple by choice and are pretty happy that way..

and I thought kids were awesome...and took care of inlaws kids ...then I had my own and I'd never change it...but it was rough and can really suck sometimes

course the days its awesome its the most awesome thing ever...but still


fuck em, you don't want kids, don't have kids...

p.s. ...getting sterilized seriously isn't that hard to make happen...look into it further if thats what you really wanna do

Some of my best friends don't want to have kids and what people don't get about people who don't want to have kids: They are a blessing too by purposely NOT having kids. You'd take care of your own well I'm sure, but I shudder at the thought of people having kids they didn't want and continue to resent. = child abuse. Not understanding why some people don't want kids is another example of cultural pressure. My inlaw CRIED for us to have kids. We waited till we were ready.

Oh, look into cauterization vs surgery for tube cutting/tieing. It's a new all too easy and cheap procedure that some docs won't mention. Not sure why- could be it's newness or that it won't make 'em money. No expensive surgery or no hormones to keep buying. They basically sodder shut your cervix. Oh, and NO period too! And, menopause and mood swings go much more smoothly.

It's the woman's vasectomy finally!

The problem with most forms of female sterilization I have found is that they tend to mess up the way your body produces and uses hormones, and most can significantly increase your chance of early menopause and puts you at a higher risk of osteoporosis :( I will research cauterization though, wasnt aware of that one and havent researched in a long time :)

I think most of the scarey warnings about probs with female sterilization have been largely debunked on further study...plus have you looked into essure? it has its own set of scarey warnings but circumvents a lot of the proposed issues with the normal cut burn and clamp variety sterilization

depends on the insurance but I know ours covers tubal ligation and vasectomy...vasectomy is super cheap tho even if insurance doesnt cover it.

Having impregnated the womenz before though its probably very possible that your in the early stages of pregnancy and your lvls of the pregnancy hormone are not high enough to give you a positive test. Come back in a week and test again; the problem should have resolved itself but if not your levels should be high enough as they double every day to test positive.
 
lol @ the guys in here...if you're late and you're not getting a BFP you're probably not pregnant unless you've charted wrong. Most pregnancy tests today are very accurate. Go get blood work this week if you keep getting pregnancy symptoms but no BFP. I wouldn't worry yet. :)
 
I was 3-4 weeks late after taking Plan B once, and again during another time I severely fucked up my birth control but I was never preggerzzz. Cindylou is right though, if your late your pregnancy test likely would've picked it up by now. I'm sure it's no biggie. :) I understand freaking out though. I got all types of anxiety both times I thought I was. I was taking tests like ALL the time til I got it bc I was scared shitless.

both tests I took are for early response, one of them is Answer which you can take like days BEFORE you skip your period, so seeing mine is 10 days late I would think it picked up on it, I also took it in the morning (damn it's hard to hold that first pee :worried:) I'm gonna try to avoid eating after 9pm regardless of my schedule to avoid any possible heartburn/acid reflux so I can determine if my diet is causing it.... I have been using the same birthcontrol sucesfully for the past 8 years, I doubt it would fail me now.... but at the same time dont like what's going on, it's weird....
 
yeah answer has an admitedly unverified threshold of like 7...whatever effin unit it is...for perspective clearblue is like 100...of whatever unit of measurement that is...by the time youre a week late youre into the thousands

I know it helps lose weight and it pretty much works as contraceptive but I believe you still get your period.... ladies with kids, please confirm....
