Nelson's opinion on milk

mt

New member
Because of your advice I actually found a supplement that I could really feel a difference. That's BAC's Avena Setiva. I like the powdered form since I have several shakes a day and with all the crap I mix in it I don't even taste the Avena. Plus the powdered form is so inexpensive.

I've heard so many conflicting views on milk. Some say it's a great source of protein and calories when bulking and others say it the nector of the devil and will only make you bloated, fat and oozing with phlegm. What's your opinion?

What's Nelson's opinion on my shoes? Their 12.5, wide, Reebox. White, with a blue stripe.

Some people swear by milk, others don't..... it shall be interesting to here some peoples opinions.

Personally I have 2-3 glasses a day, and I love it. Makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner go down smoother.

Milk is almost completely undigestable in adult humans. As infants we have enzymes that will breakdown milk which is essential for growth. As we age we loose these enzymes, rendering milk completely useless.

Can you think of another species that drinks milk after infancy??? I dont think so.

As stated earlier - "milk is for babies."

The only and I repeat the only benefit one could recieve from milk would be calcium and that is only if it is fortified with vitamin D for absorbtion. A much better choice would be green leafy vegatables.

Sorry Nelson - for taking your thread.

If it's almost completely undigestable then how can you get fat from it? It should go right through you. Didn't the BB's of old thrive on the stuff? The mantra use to be: Squats+Milk=Mass. I don't know any other animals in nature that drink milk after infancy but that may be because they can't get it. Cats love milk. Besides, what animals eat cheese or tofu or ice cream? As humans we can manipulate our foods and it's availability in ways that animals cannot. Isn't whey and casein protein from milk? What enzymes do we lose as adults that prevent us from digesting milk and has this been scientifically established? I mean it's still just protein, carbs and fats. Which one of these macro-nutrients cannot be digested and why?

Not trying to start a fight but I hear so many conflicting views that it's hard to figure out the truth.

Not meant to be just Nelson's thread. There's whole lot of knowlegeable people on this board and I'm very interested in what everyone has to say. Sometimes you just can't beat real world experience.

post a pic, I think I used to have a pair just like em

some people have a problem with digesting lactose (milk sugar)
I don't, but I have to watch my carbs in my old age. I used to drink at least 1/2 g a day

I was a big milk drinker for most of my life (29 yrs) until I talked to a few people about why I kept getting sick. I was catching colds, the flu and just feeling run down. Recently I switched over to soy milk, but don't drink nearly as much of that as i did regular milk. I haven't been sick or felt like crap since I stopped. Not only do i think I'm lactose intolerant, I think there is something in the milk that made me more subject to illnesses. It worked for me to switch over and now if i have any milk its just not appealing anymore like it used to be. I've also dropped a decent amount of bf since i switched. :D
