Nelson....what are YOUR thoughts on Creatine???

I'm not Nelson, but I like creatine. I think for the money it is the best otc supplement, next to protein powders. I am now using it between cycles to help prevent a large weight loss in between, and it helps to keep most strength gains (albeit through different mechanisms), but strength gains none the less.

Well, I'm sure that since everyone else thinks it's great, Nelson will say it's shit.;)

Myself, I have mixed opinions. I don't think there has been enough research on it yet. No one knows if there are any long term effects...

you guys crack me up. creatine is good shit no two ways about it in my opinion, unless of course i die from it in twenty years.

:D funny people here today.

Creatine is probably rated #2 on my supplement list-- (I wonder what's #1 *GRINS*) I think it's very important to know HOW to use it, in order to maximize it's benefitcal results.

Is it too late to join the party? Hey, I'm Nelson!

Anyway, this is the long and short of it on creatine.

I'm not thrilled with it, but I don't think it's a scam. In other words, it isn't inert and it's reletively safe, so whay not....give it a shot. It works especially well on first timers.

The majority of it's effectiveness doesn't come so much from the ATP but from the water retention, which acts as a "hydrolic effect" on the joints. The thing with ATP is, it's like most nutrients -- you'll use what your body can absorb, and discard the rest. And the body can only absorb so much. Adding more will not add more strength. In fact, it's doubtful that you can absorb more ATP in a 24 hour period than is present in a hamburger.

The whole "loading phase" promo on creatine was concocted by James Bradshaw when he worked for MM2K. It was a total sales pitch -- absolutely no science behind it whatsoever.

I don't use creatine anymore because it smooths me out. But if you're on a bulking program, it isn't a bad idea to add it in -- especially since it's pretty cheap these days.

its just a shame that once you stop taking it the extra 5 pounds go with it.

myself being under 10% i dont mind a little extra water.

Creatine has never done a thing for me..........all kinds, eas phospagen, effervescent creatine, liquid creatine, plain old powder.........NOTHING, no matter how hydrated I am, i just don't get anything from it.

I have used on after two cycles as per some other people's advice, maybe it helped a little bit in terms of preserving lbm, but who knows........

IMO the best way to take it is just to get the powder, and just measure the amount desired and just dump it into your mouth and chase it w/whatever you would normally use(like your pw shake w/dextose), this way you don't have to keep stirring that crap and drinking it and realizing that 1/3 of it is still just chillin at the bottom of the glass.

Jetisin-Try the MICRONIZED or effervescent versions, uptake is superior to the big granules...As much as I hate to admit it,CELL TECH actually kicked ass when I used it,gained a shitload of strength and about 8 lbs in 2 weeks time, but that stuff is loaded with way too much carbs for my taste.

AMEN! I damn near went into diabetic shock from that shit.

Here's a great idea, boys and girls: because a scientific study was conducted on creatine using 75g glucose as the controlled dosage of sugar, let's call that our serving size and we'll have the literature to back it up.

Puuuuke...

I don't know what creatine you are taking but I have never had anything like that happen to me from taking it on and off for the past 6 years...

the funny thing is... creatine makes me more bloated in everywhere but my face whereas steroids bloat me less on my body and more on my face.

I take creatine just for the pumps it gives. Gives me that extra mental boost. Other than that, makes me really watery :(

creatine works dang good for me except i blow up with worse water retention than anadrol and i get kinda fat cuz of the sugar in it with phosphagen hp---its kinda funny cuz i used creatine before real gear and i always thought "man if creatine works this good on me wonder what real steroids will do."

you guys talk about creatine likes its dbol.....i don't get any water retention if anything i feel tight and pumped... also strong as hell

I'd go along with what Willie says...but add a few things.

Along with the extra water retention, realize that it does nothing for your connective tissues, ie tendons.

The use of creatine I think was mostly to blame for my 1st pec tear. I don't have time to get into all the exact reasons tonight but can expand on this later if needed.

Do a little searching and I think you'll find that it has caused, or is being blamed on alot of connective tissue damage.
