I've seen people back in the day run 5 g, and now I see people running even more. At the end of the day it is more important what your diet is. Creatine is just a supplement. Remember that.

Pure creatine is hard to find. A lot of times they will add fillers and preservatives to them.
 
Standard dose is 3 to 5 grams per day. No loading phase needed, just take it consistently and it builds up in your system over a couple weeks. That's it.
