Nelson Montana - what causes 'Roid gut?

Fonz said:

Bingo. Thats right on the money.

GH causes the internal organs to grow(And the Pros use a LOT of GH), and these become so enlarged that they portrude.
Insulin does not cause it. Insulin will just increase fluid retention
in the peripheral limbs.
Feet, hands etc..
Shake a pros hand and you'll see what I mean. THeir hands normally goes "splooosh" when you shake it.

This backs up what one surgeon in LA told me... by wierd quirks of fate he is probably the only guy in the world to have cut open many top bodybuilders (long story) and been able to see first hand the results of 'Roid Gut. He attributed it to GH.

It was really interesting talking to him about it. He was adamantly against GH from the stand point of having seen first hand what it did to people's internal organs.

GH was'nt around years and years ago. I would'nt have done when it was. That's the gh that was made from Cadavers and it had real problems. I'm sure if you saw the B.B. from long ago and they were'nt always so fat . Probably took off from working the abs.

Actually, I've read that the lining of certain organs grows thicker and not necessarily the actual organs.

Also I'd imagine at one point the waist has to thicken to hold all that extra weight.

Maybe it's just bigger abdominal muscles. I have roid gut from training my abs heavy. They stick out.

Is he a surgeon or a pathologist?

Its not just GH that makes your stomach grow, I have also experienced thickening of my mid-section when using inyectable testosterone. Anyone else?

I think it's from the simultaneous use (abuse) of GH/slin and igf1. More so with igf1.

Actually I think this is the best guess so far. IGF-1...which remember...GH converts to....can cause growth of organs.

I think it was basskiller who posted the IGF-1 Hype thread. Here is a quote.

IGF1 will attach its self to the lining of the intestine and cause atrophy of the gut. Every thing IGF1 touches will grow and you have a lot of receptors on the lining of the large intestine and inner wall of the abdominal well.

Well.. this question wasn't addressed to me... however... :)

I think Fonz said it in his post... I'm not sure, as I scanned this post and I'm not a world-class scanner. :)

GH (As well as test after a period of time) increases growth in soft muscle tissue... i.e., the organs. Intestines grow... guts stick out more.... Take a look at Greg Kovaks... he looks like he's pregnant... Misuse of GH... along with other testosterones... I mine as well ask him... I mean, he's probably only dangerous at close ranges... I'm almost positive I could out run him... he's no Levrone. :)

C-ditty BTW... Ronnie is rapidly approching this status.

Just saw the post, and my answer would be; all of the above.

The GH is responsible for increasing intenstinal size. Insulin overfills the muscle with glycogen and and excessive roids enlarge the muscles of the abdominal wall -- along with the obliques. Have you noticed how big the obliques of some of these pros are? The only way they can keep them under control is to let them athrophy. So instead of tight, strong, muscular waists with hard shapely obliques (like in the old days) you have outrageously developed rectus abdominals with big puffy obliques.

The bottom line is, the human body simply wasn't designed to carry all that weight, even at 6% bf. (Which they only maintain a few weeks out of the year. The rest of the time, they're fat. Let's face it. ). In essence, the body becomes more than larger, it becomes overstuffed to the point that it needs to expand any way it can. And the results are a distorted bloated lump. I have to say, I really think it's a really stupid look.

Zane, Arnold, Draper, Scott, Haney, Paris, Nubret -- they all looked like GODS! I'm grateful to have grown up at a time when that was something worth emulating. I can't imagine why anyone would want to look like Ronnie Coleman. But that's me.

Its nice to see someone call this something besides "GH gut". Back before anyone used GH, it was called "roid gut".
The facts are that there is NO scientific research that proves the internal organ growth theory.
This is a theory esposed by Yarasheski, the top researcher in the field of exo GH use. He noted that subjects using GH alone gained body mass, but not muscle mass. He surmised that this could be from water retention, thickening of bones and connective tissue, OR internal organ growth.....or some combination of the 3, which seems most likely to me.
