well, i wasnt either, but since java blew nelson's spot up i decided to check it out, pretty rough....

Then again, the lactose in casien can't be totally discounted. There are advantages to lactose being a carb from animal origin. It's highly insulogenic so adding it to a post workout shake may not be a bad idea. The problem of course is that it's tough to diges, but taking lactase with it along digestive enzymes helps.

Thats a really good point. But, hasn't the quality of their supplements been called into question in the past after lab tests?

I believe what was questioned was whether their protein blends were accurate, which is different from them having less total protein or something.

I think it is wise for EVERYONE to realize that this board is not here for the general enjoyment of the gym rats of the world. There are MANY business (read $$$) related angles to every aspect of the board. In many ways it's not all that different to the supplement catalogues (some people call them bobybuilding magazines).

Not that any of this is evil, it's the Amercian way. Just good to keep in mind when evaluating anyone's claims to any any product.

Can't we all just get along? Who gives a shit if he makes money off it, everybody should be doing research for themselves and making descisions based on lots of different sources. If they offered me money to use the supps. and I liked them, I'd sell them the piss out of them. Which supplement company actually tells the truth? They got guys who weigh 260 contest, standing there and claiming that these supps made them this big. Bullshit, we all know who uses and who doesn't. Does that make all the pros sellouts? I believe if you want to endorse them, go for it. personally I don't put much faith in ANY of that shit. But then again, some people say I'm carzy.

Nelson, you have championed yourself as a man of the people, defending them from the claims of supplement companies. You claim validity because of your association with Biotest and how they were using their customers and how you hated being a "cog in the machine". Now you are coming out in support of protein factory's line of supps. OK, at least you advocated all of their ingredients before endorsement but aren't you still a part of the establishment?

I'll die defending the premise that once someone has a financial interest in something they lose a portion of their credibility when giving opinions about it. Do you have a financial interest in anything the factory sells? The answer will be yes because he sells his book from their site, even if he has no kickback from the supps. Now, at least be up front and honest with your pimping of their supplements. Nobody will deny you the right to make a living by helping sell products you believe in, but at least be honest about it. In some way shape or form you are once again part of the "establishment."

This is in no way a flame against you as you have brought a lot to this board and bodybuilding and I give you props for it. Just my .02

I'm not sure who approached who but Nelson has been a strong advocate of the ingredients in the products The Protein Factory makes and sells long before it was introduced in product form. I used to give Nelson a lot of shit about promoting his book but the more I get to know the guy I think the financial interest with Nelson is secondary. I believe Nelson truly loves the vocation he's in and really wants to help people above the money aspect. If he can make a living doing what he loves to do and helps people in the process then more power to him. It's not easy making a buck in the supplement world. It's a highly competitive industry and barriers to entry are strong.

i don't see what the fuss is abt- i mean nelson has to earn a living too like all of us. in any case- whats wrong with being part of the establishment when a part of it is not necessarily bad. isn't it stupid to be anti-establishment for the sake of it without any rationale. and PF rates seem to be unbeatable.

He sells a book, and recommends protein factories product that is based on his ideas...

and I believe I've seen him say you can go purchase these ingredients seperately if you wish from BAC, but protein factory sells it capped already for a pretty much equal price, so might as well get it from them.

Unlike a lot of people in this industry for profit, I've seen none like Nelson and Ulter, Macro for that matter.. that are on elite giving out advice to the best of their knowledge almost daily.. if not daily..
