I'm glad your reconsidering this. What do you eat everyday? list it out for us. that could show something.
I was 6'2'' at 170 when I went into college.. at 22 I was 225 before my first cycle. there IS a great possibility you can do this. like west said ( I think west!) do legs/ strength. squats and deadlifts, yes they suck! but when you get into them you will grow all over. Now I love deadlifts and it's my best movement. Limit cardio. I was a track guy too, so I know where you are coming from!
diet; chicken steak/beef/buffalo, eggs, oatmeal, brown rice, greens/veggies, efa's olive oil, natty peanut butter fish oil, cheese ( I f'n love cheese) cottage cheese, fish, etc.
