Hey bro don't despair, all of the things you describe everyone has been through at one time or another. I have felt the same way at times. 17, all kinds of things are affecting your life right now, most of which you don't have control over. This is okay, this is life, how you deal with it is very important. Do not take the drug route. We have a tendancy to think that everyone of life's little "hiccups" can be treated with drugs. This creates a state of dependancy and powerlessness which can only benefit the pharmaceutical compaines.
Take a close look at the things in life that are affecting you.... are they really worth giving that much attention to and letting them affect you so severely? Personally, I am very hard on myself, down to miniscule details. For me I took it at as challenge to overcome, to grow stronger because of, to test myself.
Do whatever it takes to deal with this, find a hobby, learn to lose yourself in the moment, try to enjoy the simplest things in life, enjoy the process if that's what it takes. You have your life ahead of you, nothing at all is worth getting down about for too long.At the very least exercise every day, at least some kind. Exercise has been proven to be the most effective way to fight depression.
Before you seek more medical help do a few things first... get out and about...exercise you body and brain, learn something new, find a new hobby, talk and get to know as many new people as you can, listen carefully, you can learn something from all of them. Talk to that hot girl... trust me she is just as nervous as you are no matter how she acts.
All the things you ever needed to deal with this can be found within yourself, work toward finding it. It can be done and you be be surprised how easily it can be done.
Find a trusted friend to confide in to help you along the way, it can be a parent, girlfriend, teacher or the crazy lady who lives down the street, you did always wonder what she was arguing about to herself didn't you?
So many answers surround you, just take a look.
If after a concerted effort these things don't work... take it upon yourself to find a professional to talk to....then and ONLY then upon their advice, should you consider taking drugs.
Good luck to you friend.
