i just bought a 95 mtx taurus sho with 75,000 original miles for $2000

fuggin mint and babied. it's getting garaged this winter. that and some boost with stiff bushings/motor mounts all around

thing is going to scream

for those who don't know it's a ford taurus with a quiet stock body kit and a 3 liter yamaha motor that pumps out 220hp/200tq mated with a manual transaxle...but the beauty of it is the high revving motor, this thing is a highway monster
Ive driven an SHO (black, grey interior, ground effects plus all that mumbo jumbo you mention above about the hp and tq). was fast as fuck. this was probably back in early 90s, maybe 1990 even. dont remember.

anyway yeah

i'm impressed!!

if it was the older, older body type it was a gen I

they were light and depending on the year had issues

89 - first year they were made, had a small clutch that burnt out after 20,000 miles, cable shifter, ugly interior

90 - upgraded clutch, still had cable shifter, interior gets better

91 - offered a "plus" model with a fiberglass hood, rod shifter and other aesthetic upgrades

92 - 95 were gen II and the last with a manual tranny and a true yamaha motor (i have a 95 thing is pretty if you appreciate these type of cars)

One of my first jobs was working detail for a ford/toyota dealer. We got to drive all the cars was 93-94. The SHO was one of my favorite cars, so fast. I love sleeper style cars like that. That was the year we got the Supra still my personal favorite, I love that car. (No Sparta don't need to see pics of it AGAIN

the point is now moot. he crashed it while driving on on-ramps at high speed for recreation and now he had to buy another car. this time he spent a whopping $3k on a suzuki esteem (2002)

Good lord, how does he keep a driver's license?

I hope you've forbidden him from ever driving your Civic.

link on the specs of this Yamaha motor on the generation II
First time I ever heard that, although I am not a big Ford fan.
