My recent Blood Test results for Hormone Levels.

I have always been pretty sure that my test levels are below normal. My strength seems to be subpar for my size and muscle takes longer than most to develop for me. I also have had a good bit of pseudogyno and some regular gyno since I was a kid. I feel as if my body is somewhat "female shaped", i have widish hips and I feel like I am curvy rather than blocky, I also have hardly any facial hair. That being said I decided to have my hormone levels checked to see if I needed HRT. I am dissapointed that the doctor did not check my estradiol levels though.

Here's the results: (age 26, 5'10", 165 lbs, ~14% BF)

T4 and TSH:

TSH - 2.147 uIU/ml normal range: .350 - 5.50

T4 - 9.3 ug/dl normal range: 4.5 - 12.0

FSH and LH:

LH - 3.1 mIU/ml normal range: 1.5 - 9.3

FSH - 2.1 mIU/ml normal range: 1.4 - 18.1

Testosterone Serum:

Test - 469 ng/dl normal range: 241 - 827

Prolactin:

Prolactin - 6.0 ng/dl normal range: 2.1 - 17.7

That is everything he tested. I would have liked to see my estradiol levels, as I believe that its possible I have an overactive Aromatase enzyme or something along those lines. It seems that my LH and FSH are very low in the range, while my test is at the midpoint. That could mean that I have a lot of E2 floating around giving negative feedback to my pituitary to stop producing LH and FSH. If that is the case, then an AI like letro or arimidex could have a very anabolic effect on my body.

Wish I could get these all the time! It's hard to get the doc to get these tests done for you more than once a year.

maybe you should reevaluate your training regime, your diet, and the amount of rest you give your body before you try blaming it on hormones. everything he tested you for is perfect.

Next time get your "FREE" testosterone checked. That's what matters. You can have low T and high free and be better off than someone with high T and low free.

I'm not trying to blame anything dave - I'm just like everyone else in here, I prefer knowledge over ignorance. I didn't say my progress was non-existent, it's just slower than most. And the secondary sex characteristics like facial hair that I lack led me to believe that it was a hormone problem, so I got my levels checked.

I never take the easy way out so please don't think that is what is going on here.

Ok I definitely will do that. The next test I get done will be more involved, I'll make sure to get free test checked so I know if SHBG is a problem, and I'll tell him to check estradiol levels as well.

Thanks for the responses guys, sounds like so far everything looks ok.

Things look to be good buddy ... of course like you said your estro "could" be out of whack slightly, and/or you could have some excess SHBG bogging down your free test.

@ this point be happy theres nothing substancially out of balance, and go from here.

If your still concerned im sure your could pay to have the lab workup on your estradiol/FT/SHBG which wouldnt be too much IMO, because it would be nice to 100% know whats going on.

ps. Do you/have you used AAS in the past?

How much did the testing cost, if I may ask.

No I've never used any AAS before. I trained very hard from age 20-23 and was around 185 lbs then, with probably 20% bf. I had a few bumps in the road and wound up not being able to train and going from 185 to around 195-200 with really high BF. I started training hard again in november of last year, with everyday cardio and low, clean calories. I got down to 156 which was about a month ago. I have since started eating more calories and doing less cardio (3 times a week now) and I'm at 165 with around 14% BF.

My strength is ok, but I feel like I should be stronger for the work I put in and the consistent diet. I've wanted to get my levels checked for a really long time since like I said I've always felt something was off there.

PS. the test was free since I went to the doctor for it. (well copay still)

hey not trying to hijack the thread....but could someone pm me on how to go about getting blood workup. Do you guys go to your regular provider or like a specialist?
