My Quest to COMPETE - BEAT THE DISEASE!

Last week was.....155x10, 190x6, 195x6, 200x6, 205x6, 230x4, 265x1 , 275x1

So, if I go 5x5 tomorrow, what would be my plan of atack?

This is for mass right? Vs pure strength.........

maybe something like this.....135x10 (just to get warm and get in a good groove)....185x5, 195x5, 205x5, 215x5, 225x5

Then the next week, maybe something like....135x10, 185x5, 195x5, 205x3, 225x3, 235x3, 245x3

These will grow muscle, brother.....adding weight to the bar and getting stronger is the stimulus/reason to grow, and eating enough calories is the trigger you need to pull in order to grow. The test/eq is added fun.

What you can even do is run 2 straight cycles of 6 weeks, 4x8, 5x5, 3x3, repeat, at the end take a week of DLing, then max.....just some random ideas.

Of course that's better, bro......I was just tossing out the idea....you know you better than I know you.....I'm all for the 235x5, in fact, I truly believe you have even more in you.

Ok....I'm freagin tired of the other boards.....there's one in particular where the guys all say they compete are very shredded in their pics, knowldge is very good, and they slam my diet saying it'll put on a liot of fat for someone my size...which I DO FEEL I am gaining....I thought it was mental, but now not so sure....I need some honest opinions from the bodybuilders out there......am I eating too much, should I scale back a tiny bit for a little bit? 18-20lbs might be too high for only 5 week in PLUS daily cardio.....agreed???

Jeff....most people on 'bodybuilding' boards don't know their ass from a hole in the ground......they walk around at 180lbs year round and never gain an ounce of strength or muscle, and contrary to their claims, they aren't bodybuilders, but rather guys who like to maintain a 'fit' look year-round......and most of them aren't even that, or at least they need a lesson in "Physics 101" if they are gonna "e-flate" their stats.....lol, you CAN'T be 6' and 180 with a 28 waist and 52 chest and 22 arms....where is it going??? do the math.....lol.....

Again, you were 250 at 6'2"......I'd bet money that you were bigger and stronger than about 99% of the people on said discussion board......don't let that stuff get to you, you know what to do.

I read through most of them....again, I personally don't see anything wrong with your diet, and I don't think it is too many calories for an underweight, 6'2" guy trying to build muscle.....caloric needs vary from person to person and many things need to be factored....if the scale is moving up 1-2lbs a week, I think you're fine......you're 167 now, but if you don't wanna stay 167, you can't eat like you weigh 167.

Most guys who tend to throw out numbers on the low-cal end and preach year-round neurotic dieting tend not to be very big guys.....170lbs, 185lbs, 210lbs....at 6'2" and the ability to weigh 250+ with good body comp, you're a big dude, Jeff.......to me, there is too much of an emphasis on the little things that don't matter with too many people in BB, weightlifting, etc.....The "diets" published in FLEX are about as accurate as the training info, follow around an IFBB Pro some day in the off-season and see them stuffing their face at Taco Bell trying to cram down as many calories as possible (not that you should od this, but just to prove a point).
