My g/f killed herself last night.

C-Sharp, you may not want to consider this... but it might be a good time to check in for a visit with a therapist... even if it is just to have the therapist tell you you don't need counseling.

This is heavy, really heavy. It might be a good idea to talk to a pro.

Yes. This is something I am contemplating.

I seem to be doing a little better, but it doesn't take much to set me off into my depression again.

I am very tired now though, and hopefully will sleep throughout the night.

Thanks SG

In EMT and Paramedic training (and with the police and fire department) they have built in therapist meetings if they get sent out on a call that turns out to be a big shocker. (Like a bad suicide or a kid getting killed.) They've found that by having the guy see a therapist right away and "debriefing" the situation... they keep it from building into a bigger long term problem.

i can't even begin to imagine the pain you're going through... although i dont know you, you have my most sincere condolences

be strong brother

C#m,
I very sorry to hear of your loss. This has indeed been a bad week. I lost an old friend in Baghdad last Sunday, & it hit me much harder than I had ever thought it would.
I'm sure you already do this, but my greatest emotional release other than tears & prayer is to play. You can probably express yourself far better with 6 strings than you could ever say with a computer keyboard or words. When I found out my friend had been killed, I went into a chapel tent all alone & played my horn for a while, in reverence and respect for a fallen comrade.
I know I don't have to explain it to you. let it all out, and capture it to remember her by.

Let it fly, bro, let it fly.

Very Respectfully,
Rick

God man!!! I'm sorry...but i don't think i could look at that chin up bar the same way anymore. It might do you good also to take it down for a while....bless you!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers are with you. From some personal experience, counseling helps a lot. Good luck.

Thank you all.

Yes, I will be looking into counselling tomorrow. The tenant downstairs from me is a paramedic as well a a suicide-prevention counsellor. He has aided me greatly tonight. For an hour or 2 I began to feel relatively normal. No urge to vomit or anxiety. I knew it was to good to last. I feel guilty about feeling better anyway.

If anyone is interested, here is the link to my g/f's obituary.

http://www.winnipegfreepress2.com/obituaries/

Her full name was Marie Yvette Chantall Nadia Guillemette.

In Quebec the 4th name is used as thier 1st name.

Her picture isn't printed online, which is a shame.

I am ging to try to put some pics up later. It seems right for people here to see who I have been talking about these last couple of years.
:(
