My Fault?

The neighbor dog ran over in my yard and almost got hit by a car. As the dog ran back across the road my dog chased it and almost got hit by a car. Of course I am freaking out. So I go to the owner and tell her it is ridiulous my 500.00 dog almost got hit b/c her dog was in my yard. But I end up being the asshole in all of this wtf? If my dog was trained better it would not have ran out in the street. It was a really stupid thing to say since her dogs are 500.00 too. Can't ague with a broad. Morale of the story was the dog was actually not hers and someone elses. I didnt swear and I even called her ma'am. Do I apologize for being a dick, if so, what's the move, p.s. she is not hot close to 350. K for answers.
