Its prescribed to men... but for the same purposes that its prescribed to females. Also it IS prescribed for PCT by many doctors supervising patient's steroid use (both legitimate and illegitimate) or helping patients that come in and tell them that they are on steroids... but if you read the MANUFACTURERS intended uses, and its FDA Approvals, recovery from AAS is mentioned NOWHERE for these drugs, despite the fact that they have been used for PCT for years. Its the same reason some doctors prescribe xanax for sleep, when it is an anxiety drug. It isnt in the drugs manufacturer profile or FDA Approved Use, but it is widely accepted to help, and since doctors are allowed some latitude on prescribing drugs intended for one thing to treat another they prescribe it. Also, since many of them have no education on steroid recovery, they are essentially, as a population, no more informed on the subject than most bodybuilders besides their more complete physiologic knowledge base. In fact, most know less than the more experienced athletes. It just isnt a topic widely explored by the medical community, and the fact that a doctor has an opinion means nothing (obviously not NOTHING, but not much - most dont have any experience with it). To my knowledge, there have been no 3rd party studies on Clomid or Nolva for PCT. It is just widely accepted solution, not tested or proven besides anecdotal evidence. No prescription product, to my knowledge, is intended or approved for recovery from AAS.
