My 20k post dedication to my Dad

I'm older than most of you, which makes my dad pretty old. But the fact that he lived a long fulfilled life doesn’t make this much easier.

Yesterday I got the news that he has advanced cancer and he is too frail for therapies. He'll be going from the hospital to the hospice very soon.

As much as I tried to prepare for this it still feels like a punch in the gut. This is by far the toughest week of my life.

Please say a prayer that his suffering isn't severe.

There are a lot of good people here and I'm hoping every good thought/prayer will help.

Definitely in my thoughts. I lost my father last year and I tried to spend as much time together as possible. Let him know how you feel and cherish the time you have, he'll appreciate it. Wishing your family the best.

His post inspired me to go back and look at some videos I posted on myspace in tribute of my father and consider everything again. Men and their father's can be a strange dynamic. For me, I was always trying to live up to expectations that he never had and I created in my own mind.
