Good Lord guys......I have to say something before I read the last page of posts.....first of all......Slipknot are from my state....my friends and one of my relatives know them personally and are friends with them....SIC....don't put them on a pedastal, K? Guys...obviously SIC can't get it thru his head that Slipknot sucks (BUT a opinions are like asshole and everyone on these boards have one, SIC is entitled to his)..they may be alright to talk to, but their music sucks.....just like Orgy, my husband has partied with them at the hotel they were at when they played the Lazer Louou (spelling? pronounced Lou-ow) along with many other numetal and alternative bands and said they were awesome to talk to...great guys....but they suck also (Orgy I mean)...they have one good song.

As far as a trend....well some people can say "well so and so won't be around for long, they're a one hit wonder"...but don't ya think some people said that about the mega-millionaire-legend artists that have been around for kazillion years? Like I said before, everyone has their opinion. Nobody's right and nobody's wrong. It's just fun to let everyone know what you think.


Personally (I always have an opinion...just sometimes keep it to myself) I listen to anything from CCR to Metallica (sorry SIC, but Metallica are a legend....they have Mandatory Metallica on a radio station in Iowa..an hour or two of nothing buy Metallica every weeknight) to Def Leppard to Train to Fatboy Slim to Santana to Linkin Park (Chaz and Mike are sooooo yummy) to whatever. If it has a beat and gets me pumped, then I love it no matter if it's country or classical.

People like sic are too quick to point out that what myself or others believe is our opinion, but it seems that thay cannot grasp that what they have to say is THEIR opinion. Fair enough, sic's opinion is his and is as valid as mine, but people do not have the right to go around and try to tell other people what to think.

I do not like slipknot, and thats my opinion.

If you dont agree with that, then fine, but if you give me shit about it, you are a very narrow-minded and obtuse individual, and you have my pity.

Right, ok so i think metallica are more musically talented than slipknot.....for fuck sake how can you disagree with this????!!!!!

Well im tired and lazy as ive just had a 8 hour coach trip, so i cant find what i originally put but i found this instead.

The Slipknot/Metallica debate, i have agreed to a degree with WPH. Metallica do have more talent overall, but as i said, if either band was to do what the other does, theyd both suck.

So to all the people saying im argueing the Slipknot/metallica thing, drop it. I am not agreeing unnamously, im saying that i believe that overall metallica are more talented, but if either band was to do the style of the other theyd probably suck.

And (Sic) has said he thinks Metallica have more talent than slipknot (Early 90's and before i thnk he said) he just prefares slipknot more.

I like the idea of your thread, but my answer is a group that holds a catagory of their own. TOOL. They are everything you could ask for in a musical band. I know that this is only a reflection of my opinion, but as a listener of TOOL, I feel compeled to share the emotions that run through as I listen to the music that is so well orchastrated. The entrancing vocals and deep riffs are what set them apart from all other bands. They fit into their own catagory, and it can only be left at that.
