Muscle Size = Weight Lifted ?

I've been thinking, would you need a certain size or amount of muscle to lift a given weight? Say to bench 250lbs, your muscles would need to be a certain size, and that size would be default for EVERYONE. Or does the size vary for every individual who lifts the 250lbs?

everyone is different.. size dont matter... 180 lb guy can outlift a much bigger perdson no prob

its all on the person and the way they lift.

im 215. pretty strong. i outlift my workout partner on everything (he is 160 btw) except bench. for some reason the man can bench 315. i cant get past 285

It's like saying: What height do you have to be to dunk a basketball?

There is very little correlation between size and strength.

There's a guy on another forum who looks like a twig who doesn't workout.... he can pull 400lb deadlift. My friend who is 167 can pull 450. I could pull 315 when I was 150lbs.

A lot of people think the bigger they get the more they can lift. Sure it helps, but you're not fully using what you have to it's fullest potential.
