Whatbhave your experiences with mm been? ever been through a trama? disease? rehab? overtrained? contest depleted and weak? how did it preform? what did it take? how much time? please post your experiences.....very curious.

I went from 245 13 or 14 % college lineman bnch 375 plus...to a wuss 160lbs at 7 % benching the bar in 8 yrs due to undereating..overtraining.....and excessive triathlons.....ie cardio. on top of weight training. do I have a orayer of getting that strength back? how? how can my body allow me to obe day bnch over 300 again if I'm so weak and depleted?

it may take you a while to get back to where you where, but it still would be easyer for you to regain it a second time than it would be for someone starting new

i used to give up training and drop bout 3 stone but alwyas got it back within 6 months.same strength and weight.

its different for everyone and every scenario, so noone can tell you.
but just eat big and work hard and before you know it youll be seeing results.

I was in an accident on May 13 of this year. Spent about 4 weeks in ICU unconscious with only a feeding tube to give me nutrients and then another week in a regular room. I went in the hospital at about 190 lbs came out at 150 on June 15. So altogether 5 weeks of basically being stuck in a bed. Could barely stand up on my own. Started lifting again on July 11, ie. benching the bar, could barely deadlift etc. My old PR for bench was 295 at 190. Been lifting nonstop for six months now and eating like its my job. I got my weight up to 205 as of today. My bench PR is now 300 and still climbing. Deads going up, squat sucks right now at only 275 but i keep at it. Moral of the story muscle memory is how I think I was able to recover so fast. That and the determination to not be 150 lbs. Hope this boosts your confidence a little.

THAT IS TRULY INCREDIBBLE!!!! Awesome to hear! Esp. for YOU.....However, I know I would have been better off immorbalized for a month or two...however, I kept training everyday everyday everyday no matter how horrible and weak I felt, so now what do I do? My body isnt just going to respond if I start eating 2x as much......Do I need a layoff.? Not sure I could handle that, is there another alternative? Intense 3x a week instead of 6? Haven';t done cardio in 2 days....I'm done with it for January which might be of a great assistance...thiughts>

the idea of "set points" has some merit
but also being able to redeem what you once had is also possible

Your Training Should Be Brief And Intense, Heavy And Balls Out!!! Train No Longer Than 45 Minutes And Get The F--- Out Of The Gym. Eat At Least 1 To 1.5 Grams Of Protein Per Pound Of Bodyweight. Your Muscle Memory Will Make The Gains You Once Took For Granted Easier To Get Than If You Never Had It Before, But Not Without Sound Nutrition And Training Priniciples. By The Way, If You Are Going Natural, Be Careful Of Overtraining. Sounds To Me Like You May Be On The Ectomorphic Side.

Experiences are irrelevant, since everyone is different and responds differently.

I agree. In my case it takes me a very hard work and a long time to increase my strenght and mass. But I've had to recover a couple of times before due to surgery or any other reason and with good discipline I can get back everything in about 4-5 weeks.

I wouldnt say 275 squat "sucks",if done right(parallel),doing more good than the guy doing 405 half way down.My ass almost touches the ground on my front squats, though I am only doing 185 or so,burns like a bitch by rep 8.I rarely go above 315 on back squats, start to sacrifice form, keep it up.

I just got back into the gym after many years out. My size has not returned yet but that is due to eating for weightloss but my strength is slowly returning. It has been almost 3 months back and I am finally starting to do dips while hanging 45 lbs of weight from my waist. Slowly but surley the weight will return too.

As we discussed before, I think it would be best for you to not do any cardio. Cardio actually isn't what makes or keeps you lean (it helps but diet is almost everything!). It's what you put into your mouth. Eat plenty of clean food and you should bulk up nicely without putting on a great deal of flub. I think for your situation and body type, cardio is a kiss of death.

Keep your routine basic. Try something like Bench press, Milt. Press and Dips for 3 or 4 sets each on Mondays, Wednesday try Squats and Straight Leg Deads for 4 sets each and then Friday try Chins, Bent Over Rows and Barbell Curl for 3-4 sets each.

You body is in a very weak depleted state right now. Did you get a full blood panel run up and a physical? If not, now is the time to do so. If you aren't gaining on a cycle and having once been 240lbs, then something isn't right. Igf1, morning dbol, masteron, etc isn't going to help you. Get a clean bill of health, start with something *very* basic like above. Practice adding small amounts of weight to the bar each week. Even if it's just the 1lb metal collars or the 2.5lb plates, it adds up over time. Make sure to eat everything in site. Let go of your fear of becoming fat. Your body type won't allow it.

Good luck in 2007. I hope you will finally be able to straighten all of this out and start making some progress again. You just need to clear your mind and set out a well thought out plan and stick to it. I got injured in 2002 and it messed with my mind. I was fast on my way to becoming 300 plus lbs in good condition. For years after that, I was just like you, a chicken with it's head cut off. When I finally got it all together, the gains came back again. Good luck and peace my friend.

Thanks bro....I would just love to be able to go on a 2 on one off schedule.....do you you think I could make that work? I have trainined the past two days...back and legs....today I am taking off...some light stretching and eating....I ahvent done cardio in 3 days....HUGE for since since I once was daily.......so that alone would help me, correct?

YES! Stay away from that cardio. At least until your body becomes stronger. You are too depleted overall right now for it. You can do a mon/tues thurs/fri split if you want. Just make sure to rest on those off days. No cardio and just be a lazy bastard. Take naps, shovel down good clean food and relax. Once your body becomes stronger, then you can start again with light cardio. Just remember to keep the routines very basic and based around compound lifts and trying to increase weight or reps each week. Even a 2.5lb plate or the 1lb metal collars count. Good luck.

agreed...or at least cut back on the cardio even more... wait till your body starts gaining and the weight starts stabilizing.
