Muscle Atrophy and Genetic Predisposition

WCP

A question Ive done some research on and have fought with myself over and over again is....

After a layoff, or burnout, or whatever one may call a long break from the iron, do you believe that genetics play a part in what body part with atrophy the most?

If so I would like to know how.

Ive talked to alot of guys that say their chests get it...some thier legs...

Me I can go for weeks if injured or sick without touching a weight and nothing seems to suffer except my bi's.

I would like some opinions on this as well as any studies done on muscle atrophy that I dont have as of yet.

Peace,
WCP

I think so WCP! I just took a month off, and I feel i lost my shoulders! Happens every time I lay off the weights for a long or short period of time. The rebound this time has been great though. In a weeks time with no A.S. i've already bounced back 5 lbs!

first id like to extend a warm THANX to ya WCP....................appreciate all the help my friend :)

i too feel that genetics play a role in what muscle(s) atrophy first and the rate at which they do atrophy. personally........i have excellent genectics for quads/calfs and shoulders...........yet my chest and arms require constant bombardment to keep em growing. if i slack off my weak areas they will certaintly atrophy quicker than those muscle groups which have been genetically blessed by the iron gods......lol

i have no research.....just an empirical theory. where is macro when ya need em
