Ordinarily he wouldn't. But he had the bad judgement to grill the kitty during a slow news season. It got a lot of publicity, and so an ambitious assistant DA is going to try and get his/her face on T.V. by throwing the book at him. If the judge plays along, he's facing a stretch.

People get time for stupid shit. I know a guy who got 9 months for pissing through the window of a police cruiser.

There's a difference between killing an animal for food and killing an animal for fun. I am actualy opposed to hunting, I think that is bullshit because most of the time the animal suffers severely before it dies. On the other hand, my steak ain't had to suffer for an hour before it was ready to package.

If you're gonna kill an animal, do it where the animal feels no pain. I understand that there are many stray cats out there and we need to get rid of them, but BBQing them is NOT the way. The guy should fry in hell for doing that.
