And it was so smooth I couldn't believe it. We started at 10:15am at my place, loaded there, drove across town to her place, loaded there, drove to the new place and unloaded and it took 4.5 hours total. One 17 ft. truck, four cars and 7 people. Awesome. Even got the truck back 30 minutes early.

Now she's putting the kitchen together while I'm watching hockey and drinking beer (she likes to unpack so told me to relax and not get in the way). Good to know things are starting off on the right foot lol.

"she likes to unpack so told me to relax and not get in the way"...............this line alone shows me you are doing everything you can do to make this thing work. I do the same thing...get in the way and put things in the wrong place............now I hear the same thing. Good job.

you know she is going to use that against you next time you guys have a fight "who unpacked all the fucking boxes while your fat ass was sitting on the couch drinking beer watching your stupid game" lol women are evil bro

Little does he know the game that is about to unfold.

I would give her a dutch oven your first night there or your wake up. LOL

never allow a female over your house... never... its a stepping stone to marriage and crib midgets...good luck bro you lost this one...ahhahahahahahah

Good Luck

Just remember that when we tell you that "we'll take care of it" it really means "no, let me do it myself because you'll f**k it up or not do it as we like it and we'll have to do it again anyway".

;)

"Ba ba ba ba barbara ann
Ba ba ba ba barbara ann
Barbara ann
Take my hand
Barbara ann
You got me rockin and a-rollin
Rockin and a-reelin
Barbara ann ba ba
Ba barbara ann"

We intentionally fuck up chores we don't want to do so you'll do them because you know the "right way." :)

^^For sure she will! Not because she's evil, but she's trying to show him 'how good she is'. In turn, HE, from that moment on will think he's getting in the way and she'll do most of the work. THEN, that day will come when she starts resenting and throwing things on his face. However, she created the whole thing to begin with.

It's referred to as "selective incompetence" and java shouldn't be discussing this in mixed company. It's our own little male-only secret.

You guys are fing hilarious. To answer your comments:

Thanks.
Thanks.
You're a douche.
Thanks.
I know how you feel.
You rock.
Bite me.
and
I agree.

Hopefully I got those in the right order.

It is no secret my brother let that cat out of the bag years ago I don't buy that bullshit. Maybe that is why I am single:worried:

My girl moved in about 5 months ago. It's been good. A little rough right at the beginning due to some issues she had (of course I had nothing to do with it :) ) How old are you two? Good luck.

The two best days of boat ownership - the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

The two best days of shacking up with a chick - the day she moves in and the day she moves out.

I'm just sayin.

Well if it flies, floats or fucks, it's cheaper to rent.

LOL at this thread I started dating my girl, 3 more days we moved together like this for 9 months now, we split all the bills and tasks, plus she cooks really well and we are both into healthy lifestyle, never been happier in my life and I used to live with one of my exs also.

It's easier to save money and setting goals!

i'll +1

my wife and i lived together for a year before we got married. . .i'd recommend it. . .you don't REALLY know someone until you've lived with them for a while. . .

I don't know about that. If you spend enough time together, you get to know each other's nasty little habits just the same.

In any case, I'm getting close to the move in point myself. We're just forcing ourselves to take things slow for the sake of his little girls.

i suppose. . .my wife and i dated for two years, then lived together for a year. . .i still think that year was time well spent. . .you really get an in-depth look at the other person's habits. . .particularly their spending habits. . .differing ideas about money is probably the number one cause of difficulties in long-term relationships. . .my $.02 :)

My Old Grump and I married on our third date and our marriage has been anything BUT easy (due to circumstances outside of our relationship)

HOWEVER,

That whole "male incompetence" bullshit was headed off at the pass by me as I told him in our first telephone conversation, "I can cook but choose not to, so don't ask and I don't clean EVER... still wanna date me?"

Whomever commented about her using this instance against you during your first fight:

DEAD ON. You, my brother, are toast.

PS - I lived with my ex for 1 1/2 years before marriage. I knew he was an asshole long before marriage and I married him anyways - MY BAD.

My Old Grump got married BEFORE we lived together and though it hasn't been easy (and don't recommend ya'll try what we did at home) I don't see us divorcing but for the issues that are OUTSIDE of us.

I truly believe that success in the marriage department has naught to do with living together before making it legal.

I agree that money issues are best learned before marriage...but good, open communication will do that. Most people don't ever talk about it...but if you're serious with someone, it's crucial. S. and I have already been brutally honest about how much money we make and where it goes, what our credit is like, what debts we have (good or bad), and I spend so much time with him that i have pretty down pat what his daily spending is like. I guess it's easier because we're both very financially stable, but we still talk about it.

When my dad does marriage counseling before he marries a couple, he actually makes them work out a budget plan lol.

I hear Steve is super dreamy, I bet he's also super smart with his money. :)

lol....actually he has a few expenses that he could do without. For instance, a pool membership, when he has his own pool. He's also way behind on taxes. But he does well and his credit is better than mine.

I agree that she'll use it, but I disagree that he's toast...if he plays it right. I learned from a master in watching my father many years ago. My mom would start ranting about something as if it was the end of the world, and he'd calmly reply:

"Hey, if you don't like it...the door is open, and your car is full of gas"

Simple, and devastatingly effective.
