I must humbly disagree. It is actually the women that want no part of marriage the second time around. Once their children are older the number of women that remarry in comparison to their male counter parts PLUMMETS.

Now that women can and do have their own money and it is more socially acceptable for a woman to NOT have to be married to have sex, they feel no need to wash someone else's dirty underwear just so they can get some ass on occasion.

Me, I was married once and NEVER thought I would remarry.

Then I met the Old Grump and the option of marriage seemed natural, for the first time EVER.

Not in my experiences. I've met so many late 30's and 40's women that were desperate to marry. If you weren't serious by the second or 3rd date, they'll move on cause they don't want to miss out on their chance to land some sucker.

Does this shock anyone or is this normal by you?
All of my friends parents growing up were married except 1. So I was never really exposed to it but now a days it seems everyone is one their 2nd or 3rd....

I'm not shocked because people get married in haste or for the wrong reasons.

All my friends except one are divorced.

That one friend was on the road to getting divorced until she realized the "lifestyle" she was going to be giving up and just how much it would cost her to duplicate it.

I think it boils down to lack of respect.

But that's just me.
