I posted several days ago bitching about the lack of volume and how I'm not gonna be sore, blah blah blah.
Anyway, today was leg day. First of all, hack squats - What is up with those? I did my warmup weight with them, and it felt different in my legs. Then I put more weight on and I couldn't do it. Also, I find it impossible to really bend the legs that much, my back was doing most of the bending. WTF. So I assume I can just sub more regular squats for these?
Second, SLDL's. Good god, I forgot how much I loved lower back pain [/sarcasm]. Didn't feel crap in my legs, but my lower back was frickin killing me, still is. A few days ago I coudln't even get off the can because of my calves, now it's because of my back. I don't see how these can be healthy. And I do have a history of lower back problems. Can I just throw these out in lieu of some Leg Presses?
While I'm posting.... these workouts are taking me 40 mins at the absolute most, and I like to spend an hour in the gym. I'm in a permanent state of bulk, but my cardio conditioning is really bad (I think, pretty sure it is). Would it be ok/productive in any way to take a few laps at the end when I have time left after working my abs? Or should I up the sets on my compound exercise of the day?
