modifying workout intensity/split when on 1-AD

I originally posted this in the supplements forum, but realized it's probably more appropriate here.

Would it be sensible to increase frequency and intensity of workouts while on 1-AD or should one keep doing what they're doing and just give the 1-AD a chance to work? I currently do a brief fullbody workout 2-3 times a week, focusing on compound movements, and usually not going to failure. This routine is more the result of a busy schedule than anything else, and in the past I've been able to do a 4 day schedule (chest/shoulders twice, back/legs twice, all going to failure). Must admit that the 4 day schedule was taxing, and hard to stick to for more than a month at a time. But for a 1-AD cycle, with some creatine and a modest bulking diet thrown in, does it sound good?

i dont know anything about 1-ad yet, but why are you doing 3 full body workouts a week? i know you say time, but couldnt you spend the same abount of time doing a three day split? or a two day split where one gets repeated each week? just dont go to failure and it wont be as taxing, it will be less taxing than your current schedule, i bet, and you will be able to up your intensity with no drawbacks.

I do the brief full body workout right now as a sort of maintenance measure -- it's certainly not optimal for growth, at least the way I do it. I'm not always able to get to the gym three times a week, and on some weeks only make it there once, so doing a 3 day split just won't work. I plan on refocusing soon and creating a more rigid exercise schedule that will certainly incorporate a 2 day, if not 3 day, split.

and as far as my current routine, recovery-wise, my body can easily handle a 3 day a week full body routine so long as I don't go to failure. My current workout is BRIEF -- bb squat, bb bench, db military, dips, pullups, DONE -- 1 warmup set and 2 working sets each, and I generally try to superset if convenient. I can usually get in and out of the gym in under 40 minutes
