Misinformation

This place really is a quality training resource. No doubt about it.

A few days ago I posted my routine an Aussie board. I was trying to explain the benefits of higher frequency training, periodization, and compound lifts. Pretty basic stuff, but the foundation to much of what is good training these days. The responses I got were laughable...

"Your program looks whack bro. Did you just pull those exercises out of a hat or something?"

"Judging by your training program, you need to learn how to pack on some natural mass."

"135kg bench press? Pounds more like it."

Deary me... Let them stick to their cable crossovers and pink dumbbells!!!

well just post a vid with you squating more than they have ever seen on a bar

I did, but benching instead b/c they called that into question.

The only response given was "is your left arm longer than your right?"

post a video of you squatting and then post a video of you doing fatality moves like in mortal combat

:FRlol: Dude you always crack me up with your comments!!!

Zander i know what you mean about some of the aussie boards! I am from Australia as well and i find most from here are not very hepful although there are some that are!

I think I've been banned. I can't seem to post :D

Here was my reply:
"Gentlemen, I have been training for performance, not looks. I am looking to gain some mass for exactly the same reason having recently switched sports.

I have been STRENGTH training, following a combination of Westside Barbell and periodization blocks. A 135kg bench press at my weight is NOTHING in strength terms, especially powerlifting. For a bodybuilder at my weight it might be a decent lift, but I haven't ever had those goals ever in my life.

If you want a clue in terms of training, check out www.elitefts.com, www.t-mag.com especially some of Christian Thibaudeau's stuff, in particular his training blocks upon which my current training is based on. Its also a mix of HST principles too. My split is of the push-pull-legs variety. The rep/set scheme is periodized to allow for progressive resitance while maintaining a suitable amount of volume split across the six days. The frequency is 3x week ala HST. No, you won't find it in Flex or Muscular Development.

I am not doing 10 sets of 20 bicep curls because I don't want pretty biceps. I'm not doing cable flys because I don't need to flex my pecs for anybody. As I stated above in another post, I'm training for mass in pursuit of athletic goals. The exercises I've chosen are the most bang-for-buck out there. I've put on 10kg in the past three months. This type of training works. High frequency, compound exercises, in a periodized schedule. That's where training is going these days. Get with it. Just because I'm not a 100kg monster yet doesn't mean that I don't have a clue.

And if you don't think I can bench press 135kg for a single that's cool, but here is 115kg for an EASY five, back in August:

If that is grounds for having my account disabled, then fuck them.

lol mad funny all the doubters are all the losers who are weaker than you and do cable crossovers instead of flat bench, I get this in real life too even from people I know... just brush it off and when your numbers will keep progressing and getting bigger and they are still doing their crossovers while dissing the people because they cannot make any progress themselves

If you do that, you may get posts like, "what exercise is that?" and "you should replace those with curls." :freak:

They should be tied up and beat with heavy mining equipment.
