Military bro's, I need some advice

WTF?! The Air Force isn't a branch of the military! They give us rides so we can do the fighting....

WTF, how are you going to say that. Did you not watch the first couple days of the war? AF went in there and took care of that shit. Seriously, probably saved some soldier/marine lives by taking care of some of those buildings. Yeah, overall though, there are a lot of pussies in the AF though, Navy too. I can say that because I am in the AF.

since he is no longer hear, i will speak for my friend whom served. he will tell you that he was deployed his second time against his will and he had to drop out of college. i really think he was let down by our country and felt that he was treated unfairly. i am in no way whatsoever disrespecting our soldiers, just giving one perspective, i have nothing but love for our troops regardless of my political views, they fight so i can sleep at night its that simple.
youre friend signed on the line.he had no will.
he knew the price he might have to pay.Iam sorry but I cant stand these weekend worryers that wont to join the army and get the beneas but dont wont to fight when there called to.bunch of bitch asssis.and if you get called back in after you get out.you knew that could happen to.
I would love to be called back in.

I hate to sound cold, but the guard and reserve used to be a good part time job and a way to get money for College. But the world has changed. It is a simple mathematical formula: If you sign your name and raise your right hand you do what you are told no matter the personal hardship. If you don't want to endure the hardship don't sign and don't raise your right hand.

Our military is all volunteer.

I am an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force right now. I;ve been in for a little over a year and have 5 years left. The experience is what you make of it just like anything in your life. I know guys in every branch and they will probably all tell you to go Air Force. We get treated the best by far and have the best opportunities. On another note to the guy who said he is going in as special forces, not to knock you but good luck. Damn near no one actually makes it in special forces. Anyone can go in with a guaranteed spot in special forces training but hardly anyone graduates. In the air force we have para-rescue and combat control. My basic training flight had at least 6 that I remember going into that field. Supposedly 2 out of every class of about 400 make it through. Again good luck but I wouldnt tell a lot of people you;re going special forces until you make it through cause u may very well end up looking dumb. To the guy wanting to know if he should go in you have to make your own decision. If you already lead a productive life you could serve your country in other ways not military related. it's not for everyone and it's def. not for me life wise.; I'm glad I went in because I have learned a lot of respect and self-discipline but I'm just not a lifer. Good luck to you and God bless everyone serving this great nation of ours.

I've been battling with the idea of joining the military since I was 18, I'm now 23. I just can't seem to get over the need to help in some way if I can.

God Bless the American Warrior.
May his Sword be Steadfast,
His Blow Decisive !

Do what your heart tells you to do bro, but if you ever doubt this country just ask a vet.

...
and when you get home and face an anti-war protester, look him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend, because she knows she's dating a pussy."

A pretty ignorant and uneducated statement, definitely an army member's IQ.

I know more pilots that have been shot at in the AF than I know marines, navy, or army members--and I know a lot of them...

Also, those bullshit convoy/patrol cover stories arent good for blanket "we do the fighting" statements anymore, BECAUSE all branches are being tasked AND trained to do it. Yep, ALL branches are doing it now.

Air Force is the first in to get shot at and to set up camp-- without a flight line, no troops/equipment = no army. Example = Afganistan and other "remote", but VITAL airstrips.

and finally,

Without beat down enemy air defenses--meaning AF goes in first = no army/marine advancement without airpower...

So, pretty much the AF blows the hell out of stuff while getting shot at, so that the army can move their toys in to babysit.

Peshmerga is a decorated vet who has kept freedom available to you and yours. You ??? his IQ? WTF is your problem. He made a general statement that makes perfect sense.

Was part of the maintenance team for a while...

Finished my degree and commissioned into ops, nowadays special ops tempo in the AF is crazy--we take assignments over the SEALS and Army special ops. The incentives are: Challenges and a $100K reenlistment bonuses to all who make it in and make it alive to the next enlistment. You're welcome to try!
