And it takes real maturity to say it sucked but it was worth it. Too many young people wander around with no direction or self disipline, good to hear your honesty.

K to ya bro !

I was in the Army if you need advice pm me and I'll give you my phone number. The military is desperate right now make sure you get what you want or don't sign up. Demand what you want and let them know your not signing unless you get that, this will help you trust me. Even if you sign up you don't have to go you can change your mind. Your not officially in until you swear in that second time which would be the day you leave for basic, don't let recruiters bs you.

Damn Natty I finally agree with you on something about the ARMY! J/J Your exactly right he should demand what he wants and get it in your contract because the recruiters have so many positions to fill and if they can find someone that will do whatever they say they'll lie and put them in a job that nobody else wants! I am not sure how he did on the ASVAB either but if they don't offer you what you want say Airborne school then leave the Meps and tell them your out and I promise a spot will open up sometime that week and he'll get a call!

Hey bro's, i know this is my first post but i was a member here a long time ago and can't quite remember my old name. anyway, I elnlited in the Marine Corps right out of high school. Probably the best thing i have done looking back at it. I went into the shit. I've been over there twice and would go again in a heart beat. i'll be the first to say that the news is jaded and almost propaganda. i have rebuilt schools, given food to cities, purified water in the cities etc. there are great things going on over there everyday that nobody talks about, and it's a shame. yea, it sucks over there! It's hot, you get shot at all the time, IED's are a constant worry, but i KNOW that i have made a difference is the world. I want to be back over there everytime i turn on the news, because i know people over there and i want to be next to them. it's clearly up to you, like everyone else is saying, there are plenty of other ways to help people. one thing that i will tell you is that you WILL NOT come back from that place the same as when you left! in both good and bad ways. if you would like to talk more about this, you can email me.

I just got out of the Infantry (army) after ten years. I also just got back from Iraq about 3 months ago. What it all boils down to is seeing some amazing stuff, meeting some amazing people, and doing your best for your comrades. Your experience depends more on your attitude than the branch or MOS that you choose. If you want to ask me any specific questions, please feel free to PM me. Remember though, this country was built with the men and women sleeping in the mud, not the politicians. I'm proud to say that I was part of it.
