matttheskywalker, the ranger, and any other Rangers

RI's single out the Rambo's and assholes, keep quite, listen, and if they drop you for pushups, be aggressive, knock them bastards out and never, never let them see you sweat from the pressure....

Please believe me, max'ing the Army Standard PT test, and the Airborne PT Test isn't hard to do, the RI PT Test is a bit different my man...But, all in all, once you get through Airborne School, if you're not in shape then, you never will be...

I went through, everything was in boots and Jungle Fatigues...Now you have running shoes and a PT uniform my man....

Keep your mind right, show a willingness to help others through the course, if you don't understand, ask dammit...you might get yelled at for being a dumbfuck but that's all you'll get...If you try and bullshit your way through a given task and fuck it up...all I can say...

Heh heh heh

Enjoy the *Worm Pit*

Heh heh heh heh heh heh

Like I saqid, and heed these words well my young friend...Becoming a Ranger is the easy part...Staying a Ranger is where it becomes a day in and day out nightmare at times....

Once you earn that beret, you let your guard down, you tend to relax...Once you get to your Batt. that all changes again, you have become the *Cherry* and can expect a bit of hazing....Mostly from the NCO's, and never forget...SP4's carry more weight in the Rnger Bat. than in most any other unit....I hated most of my SP4's.....Heh heh heh, but once you complete Ranger School, you automatically become an E-4 Promotable at that point....

You'll hate Ranger School my man, but unfortunately, a necessary evil for life as a Bat. Ranger....

I sincerely wish you the very best of luck my friend.....

the lowest i have gotten on a pt test in the run category is the high 12's for my 2 mile, so i am kinda worried about my run. pushups and situps...please...

i just really despise running, and to be quite honest, i got soft while being at ft sam houston, because that place is like fucking candy land....benning made me a hardup motherfucker by the time i left basic, but ft sam did away with some of that.

Better get used to running all over again my man, and if you stay in the 12 minute mark for 2 miles, you will have no prob....might fall out of a run or two from the hardass MOFO's....but then again, everyone will at some point, and from experience, there is no feeling on earth like the desperation of seeing that line 500 yards in front of you...heh heh heh

one thing i learned is you cant be big and run quick...there is no fucking way.l gotta sacrifice one for the other.

I had a Secondary MOS as a Medic, it's a love hate relationship my man...running sick call, you love, it's easy and you skate, road marches in mid July on a sandy tank trail, tempature 105 and humidity a million and you're humping that ruck, IV's, and you medic kit, plus the rest of your TOE pack list...Kinda sux at that point my man....<wink>

You will do well my friend, God love a Medic, when the time comes, they're the best friend you'll ever have...<wink>

Find a happy medium, keeping size when you gotta hump that ruck all over hell's creation makes it a bit more easy....I sucked at runs, but kicked ass on road marches...Just a thought your way dewd.

You earn that tab, give me a holla up, I'll drop by for the ceremony my man.....

Ranger

yeah, i can road march like a motherfucker, and that's with a full ruck AND a fully packed aid bag, not to mention your lbe, brain bucket, weapon, etc. to be honest, i love road marches. i just clear my head and totally shut down my mind from continuing any bothersome thought processes. do it like that, and you are there in no time.

oh yeah, in my little packet it says foot powder is off limits in RIP - wtf?

i heard RI's will peer people out like nobody's business if you arent a combat MOS. they will make sure a person quits...is that true?

if i already max'ed my PT test in all events, do you think i am set?

ranger school sucks. gotta do it though.

RIs don't peer anyone out, peers do. Your Ranger school class will have people from all over: the largest senders are IOBC (new infantry officers, that was me) and Ranger Regiment.

There are lots of guys from the 82nd and other units, some from the other OBCs, SF guys, a SEAL or two, maybe a handful of Marines, etc.

In other words, people are from all over.

As a non-infantry student, I suspect you'll be graded easier by the RIs. Usually the non-infantry guys are; if anything the RIs are toughest on IOBC guys and anyone who doesn't want to be there.
