Makeup to Workout?

This is a phenomenon I just do not understand. I go to the gym right after work , so needless to say I am in my work clothes and full makeup.

Though it only takes about 2 minutes to do , I have noticed that a large percentage of women do not take the time to remove their make up.

What is the purpose of this ? Do they do this because they want to look good while they sweat , which they don't. Most of the time the makeup is smeared all over their face , and their pores are clog from the combination of both!

I feel gross , if I do not wash my face before hitting the floor for my workout.

For me, I go to the gym right after work, and do not remove the little make-up I wear (lipstick and eyeliner) before working out. And I don't have a reason for this, I could careless how I look in the gym.

Ditto :)
I have eyemakeup on if anything (no lipstick for me) but I do not wash it off.

Oh and if my face was smeared with makeup from sweat :lmao: I would totally walk around like nothing was wrong ... :verygood:

Thanks for the idea Vach:)

I never bothered to remove my makeup either. I never wore that much anywho so it never smeared all over anyway.

Hello ladies. I also always wonder why women work out with foundation, blush, lipstick, etc. I can understand not removing makeup if you are wearing a very small amount, but some women have it caked on. I have to remove any makeup before I workout, otherwise I feel gross.

I can see a little bit of makeup , but these ladies are full blown , foundation , blush , fully done eyes and so forth. Maybe it's an LA thing :)

:lmao:

Only time I've got full blown make-up (aka war paint) on is competition time. I hate the feeling of having a mask on my face.

I actually bring mine in with me. Reapplying eyeliner while on the eliptical is quite a sight. heh

In the mornings...i roll out of bed and right into the gym...so I'm not a site to see.

At night...i roll in right from work and get biz done and roll out. You're right, it is only 2 minutes...but that's 2 minutes longer I'd have to be in there. :worried:

my eyeliner and macara stays on.. all i wear.. but both r water proof

I don't wear much makeup anyway and non to the gym. Hell I'm not there to please or impress anyone. LOL But if I did have a little on when I get there I leave it no biggie it's not like it's caked on. But as I said I rarely wear any mainly for going out and such so I haven't really needed to deal with it much.

I usually dont go out of the house without it - HOWEVER - I also don't wear the Pam Anderson cake makeup, either. Bare Minerals, actually.

I have a client who comes in to tan after she works out. She really does herself up, I mean, hair all done and TONS of makeup. She always asks to take her makeup off before she tans, and of course, I say sure. I have had to ask her in the past to clean up her mess. She splatters that shyt EVERYWHERE!

I have to wear mascara since I am so fair that my eyelashes just blend in to my face lol...if anything I wear that or what ever is left over from the day...but I hate makeup and sweat..or I should say my skin hates it

Bare minerals is some good ish. I think it actually makes your made face look better after you've sweated or swam in it, hell take a shower in it. I'm a big fan of mineral make up. Total different animal than the war paint that I think Vachelle is talking about.

lol, i saw radar and i had to check out this thread..... girls you look great with or withour makeup.
if your looking for a guy workout with your face on, if not who cares.
most of the guys are looking at your legs, ass, stomach and chest first, lol. sorry.

I don't wear make-up in the morning for am cardio, but in the evening I have on eyeshadow, maybe mascara, and lip stuff.

Gymgurl - I have eyelashes like yours & sometimes I get them dyed......doesn't give the length of mascara, but at least you can see them!

i dont wear alot of make-up....mainly cover up on blemishes. But honestly ,,, i feel insecure if i don't hide them a little. I ve always had less than perfect skin. It makes me feel better about myself...don't care about others opinions. Im the one lookin back at myself in the mirror lol!

Listen honey, the last thing I am in any way is mean. You want to feel better about yourself by covering up blemishes...that is fine, I can relate. But when looking back at yourself in the mirror with a nasty cancer stick hanging from your mouth, that is hardly appealing or attractive, esp to someone who takes pride in her appearance.

These two statements were taken from your posts from this thread...

“I need another reason other than the obvious ones to motivate me to stop!”

"It may be vain...but the main reminder of why to stop is simply leathery skin and wrinkles..."

Sometimes you need someone to remove the sugar coating, esp. when she's only trying to help you realize you've picked up a nasty habit and you need to kick it.

^^Very true.

Believenme, bunny might have hit a bit close to home therefore your feeling the need to be defensive? Trust me, everyone in here is as genuine as they come. We all take health and fitness very seriously so when you come in here asking for advice and such....that's exactly what you can expect to get. :)

And fyi....Bunny is one of the sweetest, soft spoken, genuine gals on this site. I actually giggled and the thought of her being mean. I can't even picture it.

sorry... obviously i don't know you all that well. I was defensive because i ALREADY want to quit, thats why i need motivation. I already see it as nasty. It just felt like a slam instead of encouragement. anyways =) c'est la vie.

Never quit.
You may fall on your face from time to time (we all do) and you just need to acknowledge it. "Hey self, we messed here and what are we going to do to try and get out of this hole?"

Some days are harder than others and just never feel like you want to quit - take a day to regroup - take a week - just never feel that you can't start over 7 days for everyday of the week.

Failing is not trying - failing is not meeting your expectations.

I do wear some waterproof mascara & eyeliner and some lipstick for coloring but no face makeup. I'd probably break out from the combination of sweat with that. I do use bare minerals sometimes. I love that stuff. I'd probably fit in in a gym in LA somewhere LOL I mostly do it for myself though. To feel a little better.
