Los Angeles area resident shelp me please

I am being relocated to the pasadena area for work. I am only gonna be making like 60k and then my significant other should be working. The office I will be at is in pasadena. What are some desireable areas to live in or buy like 2 bedroom condos or small houses? Is the realestate prices still going up steady? Or should I rent as I only plan on staying there 3 years? I would like to live by the beach but closer to work may be viable. Also the area should have a good elementary school district. Any suggestions?
I only want to spend like 225k or less on a property. Or maybe I can rent. help me

Hard time finding a 225K townhome in Pasadena... Also, Pasadena is a ways from the beach holmes... :)

My aunt is a real estate agent, I can PM her your info.

That is, a real estate agent in LA. :)

I have been told some parts of long beach are ok and santa monica is nice. any way a 2 bedroom condo can be found in these areas for 225k or less?

Bro, I live in Orange County... you can find a decent condo for 225 k easily.

Pick the area you live carefully. You don't want to have to drive more than 10 monutes to work.

Pasadena is nice... downtown Pasadena is considered a beauty spot. I'd personally go with Pasadena or Altadena if you are going to be working there.

It's hot in the summer... but you are near the mountains.

sofa what area would you reccomend by pasadena that is reasonably priced. Your right I would like to live by the beach but commuting 1.5 hours a day could really put a damper on the majority of the week. any sugesstions?
